Bridgestone Blizzak 6 vs Linglong Sport Master Winter

This head-to-head pitches Bridgestone's Blizzak 6, a premium winter touring tyre with an efficiency focus, against Linglong's Sport Master Winter, a value-oriented newcomer built for European roads. Across five shared 2025 tests in sizes from 17-19 inches, we see a clear split: Bridgestone consistently ranks near the front (3rd-6th), while Linglong sits mid-to-lower pack (5th-19th), despite flashes of speed on dry handling laps.
What emerges is a contrast between rounded winter capability and niche strengths. Bridgestone dominates snow, wet safety and rolling resistance, pairing strong aquaplaning reserves with best-in-class efficiency. Linglong counters with occasional dry-track pace and headline purchase value, but is hampered by weak snow braking, higher energy consumption and higher wear in multiple tests.

Test Results

Independent comparison tyre tests are the best source of data to get tyre information from, and the good news is there have been five tests which compare both tyres directly!

Summary of five total tests comparing both tyres directly

While it might look like the Bridgestone Blizzak 6 is better than the Linglong Sport Master Winter purely based on the higher number of test wins, tyres are very complicated objects which means where one tyre is better than the other can be more important in real world use.

Let's look at how the two tyres compare across multiple tyre test categories.

Key Strengths

  • Outstanding snow performance: repeated wins in braking, traction and handling (+3-11% advantages)
  • Wet-road security: shorter wet braking, better handling, stronger aquaplaning resistance
  • Class-leading efficiency: lowest rolling resistance (up to −25%) and high mileage (up to ~53,000 km)
  • Balanced, predictable dynamics with low noise and solid comfort
  • Competitive dry performance: quick dry handling laps and occasional shorter dry stops
  • Lower purchase price and favourable price-per-1,000 km in some tests
  • Respectable wet handling balance in select results
  • Acceptable comfort and noise in some sizes

Best Review for the Linglong Sport Master Winter

First impressions of the tyre are very satisfactory. They perform well on dry and wet roads. I haven't had a chance to test them on snow and ice yet. Comfort is good, but as expected, the tyres are noisy and the car consumes more fuel with winter tyres than with summer tyres.

At the time of purchase, the tyres were 3x cheaper than mid brands and even 5x cheaper than premium brands. That's why I decided to buy them and check whether it is necessary to buy expensive tyres for normal driving conditions and usual driving style. My conclusion is that Linglong sport master winter... Conclusion

Across the test slate, the Blizzak 6 is the safer, more complete winter tyre. It wins the majority of wet and snow metrics (snow braking, traction and handling across most tests), adds superior aquaplaning resistance, and pairs that with class-leading rolling resistance and strong projected mileage (up to ~53,000 km). Its only notable trade-off is that it isn't always the outright quickest in dry laps or shortest in dry braking, but the gaps are small and rarely change real-world outcomes.
Linglong's Sport Master Winter can feel lively on dry circuits and posts a few dry wins, but the safety-critical shortcomings on snow braking and its higher rolling resistance, noise and wear undermine its value case. Unless you drive mainly on cold, mostly dry roads with minimal snow exposure and prioritize a lower upfront price, the Bridgestone is the clear recommendation. The practical takeaway: for genuine winter conditions and lower running costs, choose Blizzak 6; Linglong only suits mild winters where snow is rare and budgets are tight.
Key Differences
  • Safety in snow: Bridgestone repeatedly stops shorter and grips better; Linglong posts some of the longest snow braking distances
  • Wet braking and control: Bridgestone consistently shorter and more stable; Linglong mid-pack with variability
  • Aquaplaning: Bridgestone leads in straight/curved tests; Linglong only occasional curved wins
  • Efficiency and running costs: Bridgestone's rolling resistance −17-25% with higher mileage; Linglong higher fuel use and faster wear
  • Noise and refinement: Bridgestone generally quieter; Linglong often louder though occasionally close
  • Value framing: Linglong cheaper to buy; Bridgestone delivers better lifetime value via longevity and efficiency

Footnote

This page has been developed using tyre industry testing best practices. This means we are only comparing tests which have had both tyres in the same test.

Why is this important? Tyre testing is heavily affected by things like surface grip levels and surface temperature, which means you can only compare values from the same day. During a tyre test external condition changes are calculated into the overall results, but it is not possible to calculate this between tyre tests performed on different days or at different locations.

As a result you will see other tests on Tyre Reviews which feature both the %s and %s, but as they weren't conducted on the same day, the results are not comparable.

Lots of other websites do this sort of tyre comparison, Tyre Reviews doesn't.
