Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen 3 vs Kleber Quadraxer 3

This head-to-head pits the premium-leaning Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen 3 against the value-focused Kleber Quadraxer 3 (a Michelin sub-brand). Across 12 shared tests from 2022-2025, both tyres show credible all-season breadth but with different priorities: Goodyear chases balance and wet mastery, Kleber doubles down on snow confidence, comfort and price. Overall rankings reflect that split, with the Goodyear taking 10 overall wins versus 2 for the Kleber.

While it might look like the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen 3 is better than the Kleber Quadraxer 3 purely based on the higher number of test wins, tyres are very complicated objects which means where one tyre is better than the other can be more important in real world use.

Let's look at how the two tyres compare across multiple tyre test categories.

Key Strengths

  • Outstanding wet braking and best-in-group wet handling across most tests
  • Stable, precise handling balance in all conditions with strong curved aquaplaning reserves
  • Consistently competitive on snow (traction/handling) with good all-round security
  • Often strong longevity and value over life despite higher upfront price
  • Shortest dry braking in virtually every test
  • Excellent snow performance and confidence, often near winter-tyre levels
  • Very comfortable and quiet ride quality
  • Attractive pricing with frequent gains in rolling resistance/fuel and wear-based value

Dry Braking

Looking at data from twelve tyre tests, the Kleber Quadraxer 3 was better during twelve dry braking tests. On average the Kleber Quadraxer 3 stopped the vehicle in 6.79% less distance than the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen 3.

Real World Driver Reviews

Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen 3 Driver Reviews

Drivers largely praise the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen 3 for confident all-weather performance, especially its strong snow traction, excellent wet grip, and predictable handling across wide temperature swings. Many report impressive tread life and a comfortable, quiet ride, with several noting solid aquaplaning resistance and year-round convenience. The most common downsides are weaker dry braking and a softer, less communicative steering feel in hot conditions. A number of users also report that wet performance can decline noticeably as the tyre wears.

Kleber Quadraxer 3 Driver Reviews

Drivers rate the Kleber Quadraxer 3 very highly, praising its confident winter capability (snow and ice), excellent wet grip with strong aquaplaning resistance, and a quiet, comfortable ride. Many note solid dry performance for everyday driving, good longevity, and strong value compared to premium options like Michelin CrossClimate. A few isolated reviews mention high-speed noise or less inspiring dry grip versus previous models, but these are in the minority. Overall, it's viewed as a safe, refined, and durable all-season choice.

Almost time to switch back to my summer tyres. So, here’s my impression of my “mild climate winter” tyres. I used to drive on Continental WinterContact TS860 winter tyres, but last winters, I noticed that I almost never drive on snow. And in spring and fall, when temperatures jump up and down, I was sometimes driving on my winter tyres at temperatures around 20°C. So now, I followed your advice and chose All Season tyres for the winter season. I drove them for about 6.000 km now in temperatures between -2 and +16 °C, in the dry and in lots of rain.
Just after switching to the... Continue reading this review using the link below

Kleber is part of the Michelin group, so it is easy to see how the technology found in the cross-climate has trickled down to this tyre. I currently drive a Suzuki Vitara 2019, and the bulk of my drive is done by the wife commuting and my two big trips a year from Scotland to Italy or Poland.
Motorway driving is on par with many other tyres; the wind noise coming from the car is always louder than the tyres themselves, so no trouble there; you get just a wee bit less fuel efficiency overall (compared to the more expensive choice), but it is nothing to transcendental, on the dry they... Conclusion

The Vector 4Seasons Gen 3 consistently delivers class-leading wet safety and composed handling, while remaining competitive on snow. Its recurring weakness is extended dry braking versus peers. The Quadraxer 3 flips that profile: outstanding dry-stop performance, strong snow ability and excellent comfort/low noise, but a clear step back in wet handling and, at times, wet braking. Value tips toward Kleber thanks to lower purchase price and often better efficiency metrics, though Goodyear frequently compensates with higher overall scores and, in several tests, superior wear/value over the life of the tyre.
Key Differences
  • Goodyear dominates wet: 11 wet braking wins and 9 wet handling wins; Kleber trails in wet grip
  • Kleber dominates dry braking: 12/12 category wins; Goodyear repeatedly has longer dry stops
  • Snow split: Kleber edges snow braking/handling more often, Goodyear competitive with occasional wins
  • Aquaplaning: mixed-Goodyear leads curved aquaplaning; Kleber often quicker in straight-line aquaplaning
  • Comfort/noise: Kleber generally quieter and more compliant; Goodyear slightly firmer but more precise
  • Value/efficiency: Kleber usually cheaper with lower RR in several tests, while Goodyear sometimes counters with better wear and total-life value

Footnote

This page has been developed using tyre industry testing best practices. This means we are only comparing tests which have had both tyres in the same test.

Why is this important? Tyre testing is heavily affected by things like surface grip levels and surface temperature, which means you can only compare values from the same day. During a tyre test external condition changes are calculated into the overall results, but it is not possible to calculate this between tyre tests performed on different days or at different locations.

As a result you will see other tests on Tyre Reviews which feature both the %s and %s, but as they weren't conducted on the same day, the results are not comparable.

Lots of other websites do this sort of tyre comparison, Tyre Reviews doesn't.
