Where the Vector All Season 4 is stronger

  • Won both full 2026 Auto Bild tests, with quicker dry handling in each.
  • Generated more snow traction in both full tests.
  • Lower rolling resistance in both sizes and longer projected tread life in Auto Bild's passenger-car test.

Where the Quatrac Pro 2 is stronger

  • Shorter wet and snow braking in both full 2026 tests.
  • Lower pass-by noise in both sizes.
  • Strong passenger-car snow handling and slalom results in Auto Bild's all-season test.

Conclusion

Goodyear's two overall wins reflect its breadth. In Auto Bild's 2026 all-season test and Auto Bild Allrad's SUV test, it was quicker through the dry handling course, produced more snow traction and recorded lower rolling resistance than Vredestein. It also led wet handling in both, although the passenger-car gap was negligible. Its dry braking advantage in Auto Bild's passenger-car test was about 3%; the SUV result was effectively level. The 30-set braking test again placed Goodyear higher on combined dry and wet distance, using the same measurements as the full passenger-car test.

Vredestein has clear strengths of its own. It stopped shorter on snow in both full tests, by about 7% in Auto Bild's passenger-car test and 3% in Auto Bild Allrad's SUV test. Its wet braking was shorter in all three published comparisons, though by less than 1.5% in either size and with the braking test repeating the passenger-car figures. It was also quieter in both full tests. Auto Bild found it particularly strong across the passenger-car snow tests, but its much lower snow traction in the SUV test is an important qualification. Aquaplaning results also reversed: Goodyear led both measures in the passenger-car test, while Vredestein led both in the SUV test. Neither pattern supports a general aquaplaning winner.

For drivers wanting balanced dry, wet and snow performance, Goodyear is the more consistent overall choice across these tests, especially if dry handling, snow traction or rolling resistance matters. Auto Bild also projected about 9% more tread life for it in the passenger-car test, although its lifespan was only mid-field against the wider field. Vredestein suits drivers who put more weight on snow and wet braking and low pass-by noise. Its passenger-car snow results were particularly strong, but its projected tread life was shorter, and its small cost-per-kilometre advantage in that test does not erase the wear difference.

Wins count every measurement the shared tests recorded for both tyres; a tick marks the tyre ahead on that line. Subjective driver scores count as wins but are never averaged, because each test uses its own scale.

Head to head in 3 tests in 2026

Each row is one published test in which both tyres ran on the same car, in the same size, on the same day. The line is the whole field, winner on the left.

Point at or tap any spoke for both tyres' figures.

In each test the better of the two figures counts as 100% and the other as its share of it, so a 36 m stop against 34.2 m is 95%; each spoke averages the shared tests that recorded it. The scale stops at 94%: a point further in sits on the hub's edge, hollow. 2 measurements recorded in only one shared test are left off; every measurement is in the table further down.

Averages of the figures both tyres posted in the same tests. The gap is the average of each test's own gap, so figures from different cars and years are never mixed. Open a discipline for its measurements, and a measurement for every test's figure.

Braking distances and lap times are better when lower; speeds, wear and grip figures when higher. A test's figures are its own: sizes, cars, surfaces and temperatures differ from one to the next, which is why the averages here are only ever of tests the two tyres shared. "Scored" rows are subjective driver ratings: each test uses its own scale, so only the wins are counted.

I just got them on a Tesla model 3.
Consumption went up by 10-15wh/m but still very good. After 500 miles on motor way and city driving my average is at 195 wh/m. I'm a very efficient driver. The tyres are more comfortable than my summer set but way too noisy for my liking.
My old Hankook Ion Evo were down to 2mm and gave me 180-186wh/m.
All this in 20C degree in the UK.
Haven't tried them on snow or ice. There was a heavy shower the other day and on purpose I went through a deep puddle on dual carriage wa with 50 mph and there was no aquaplaning at all.
The only reason I won't get them again is noise as I drive around 40k miles a year.

A set of two to replace two severely unevenly worn tyres on the front axle. They were the first generation Quatrac Pro with 85,000 km. The Pro 2 is a huge difference compared to (fresh) Pros of the old generation. They are much quieter, all the vibrations and weird cornering noises are gone. The design seems completely new, I have high expectations of it and will post an update in a few thousand km.

Reading the results

Written from the test results and owner reviews above. It is analysis, not a measurement: where it and the tables disagree, the tables are right.

Three independent 2026 tests put the Goodyear Vector All Season 4 and Vredestein Quatrac Pro 2 side by side: Auto Bild's all-season test and 30-set braking test, and Auto Bild Allrad's SUV all-season test. Goodyear placed ahead in all three, winning both full tests while Vredestein finished second in each. In the braking test, they placed fourth and sixth on combined distance.

The full tests show why the overall result is closer than the placings alone suggest. Goodyear was consistently quicker in dry handling, generated more snow traction and had lower rolling resistance. Vredestein stopped shorter in the wet and on snow, and was quieter in both sizes. Several other gaps changed direction between the passenger-car and SUV tests, particularly aquaplaning resistance, so neither tyre has a clear lead in every condition. The braking test used the same dry and wet figures as Auto Bild's full test, rather than showing a separate repeat of those margins.

Where this data comes from

Finishing positions and measurements are transcribed from each published test. A test only counts here when both tyres ran in it, so every figure was recorded on the same car, size and day as the one it is compared to.

About the TR Score

The Tyre Reviews Score rates each tyre out of 10 from every independent test result and vetted owner review we hold, so two tyres can be compared even before a test has run them together.

Who does the testing

Every test published as a Tyre Reviews test is run by Jonathan Benson, who has been testing tyres independently since 2007.
