Performance Analysis

Drawn from 8 tests. Updated October 28, 2026.

The Continental Winter Contact TS 850 P SUV usually finished near the front, with wet grip, snow performance and low rolling resistance its recurring strengths. It won the 2016 AMS Winter SUV test and was second in Auto Zeitung's 2018 SUV test. Wet braking was third of nine with Auto Zeitung in 2018 and second of 11 in Auto Bild Allrad's 2018 test, where snow braking was first and snow handling third. Rolling resistance was lowest in Auto Zeitung's 2018 and 2021 tests. ACE recommended it in 2017.

Dry braking is a repeated reservation, criticised by AMS and Auto Bild Allrad in 2016 and again by Auto Bild Allrad in 2018, where it was ninth of 11. Aquaplaning resistance varies: straight-line resistance was second of nine with Auto Zeitung in 2018 but last of 11 with Auto Bild Allrad that year and eighth of ten with Auto Zeitung in 2021. Noise also drew criticism in 2015 and 2016. ADAC's seventh of 16 in 2017 was unusually low beside its other overall results, with ice performance the weakness despite praise for wet and snow grip and low wear. Snow traction was also unusually weak at ninth of ten in Auto Zeitung's 2021 test, contrasting with second of nine in 2018, although 2021 snow braking and handling remained near the front.
