Performance Analysis

Drawn from 3 tests. Updated October 28, 2026.

Wet performance is the recurring weakness in the Laufenn I FIT test record, alongside low overall finishes. Auto Bild placed it 53rd of 53 in its 2019 Winter Tyre Test Market Overview, where its measured wet braking distance of 39.4 m was last among 44 measured tyres and 34.9% longer than the best. ADAC also described it as very weak in the wet in its 2018 205/55 R16 winter test, in which it finished 16th of 16. Its 43rd of 52 result in the 2018 Auto Bild winter shootout offers no strong overall counterexample.

There are more favourable individual qualities in the ADAC assessment: very low fuel consumption, good dry performance and low wear. These are single-test observations rather than strengths demonstrated repeatedly across the three tests. The detailed results are too limited to establish whether snow performance, comfort or handling balance offset the wet-road shortcomings, and there is no award in this record.
