Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tyre tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Top 3 Nokian SeasonProof 1 Reviews

Given 56% while driving a Kia Motors Niro EV (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 2,000 average miles
These tyres do not behave like a true all season. They are essentially a winter tyre with quite frankly TERRIBLE wet grip and handling. They are good in the snow, decent in the dry. But my god in the wet (any temp) they are abysmal. Constantly slipping and understeering like crazy. Honestly they are dangerous in the wet. I live in Scotland so it's wet half the time. Wish I hadn't bought them. Maybe ok if you live in mongolia! Wish I had bought Vredesteins Instead. (Apparently a more wet bias "all season"). Again. These are a very winter focused all season not suitable for wet conditions.

Given 89% while driving a Hyundai i20 (195/55 R16) on a combination of roads for 7,000 average miles
Good tyre, holds well in both wet and dry conditions, precision and lateral grip surprisingly excellent. Encountered some snow and ice, no significant difference compared to previous winter tyres.Manufactured in China, balancing went smoothly, durability remains to be seen. Overall, I am very satisfied, I did not expect such a good tyre.

Given 87% while driving a Toyota Yaris (185/60 R15) on for 0 easy going miles
Previously, I had the Toyo Proxes Comfort, which I replaced with the Seasonproof1. I chose these tyres based on the promises of the old model, which has been further improved. The tyre feels safe, stable on the road, and the steering is quite responsive and precise compared to the old Toyo summer tyres. Moreover, the car is now much more comfortable and smooth. I haven't tested it in wet conditions yet, but based on my extensive experience with driving and tyres, they should perform excellently, especially in heavy rain/sleet. I will update my review soon
