The Cooper Discoverer All Season is an all-season touring tyre with good aquaplaning resistance and generally competitive dry braking. Wet stopping and cornering, high rolling resistance and usually weak snow traction are its main limitations.
Independent tests consistently identify aquaplaning resistance as a strength, with praise in all six detailed write-ups. Dry braking also attracts repeated positive comments, although slow steering and understeer limit dry handling. Comfort and noise can suit drivers who favour a relaxed ride: the tyre led subjective comfort and measured noise in the 2025 Tyre Reviews test. These qualities vary, however, with only moderate comfort reported by Auto Bild Allrad in 2021 and mixed noise measurements in the 2020 Tyre Reviews test.
Good resistance to standing water does not translate into strong wet-road grip. Long wet stopping distances and weak cornering recur, including last place in both disciplines in the 2020 Tyre Reviews test. High rolling resistance is another consistent drawback, finishing last in four tests. Snow traction is usually weak relative to competitors, though the stronger snow performance in the 2024 Auto Bild Allrad test was unusual, with fourth of 14 in handling and praise for safe behaviour. Its comfort and dry braking are more convincing than its wet grip, efficiency or ability to accelerate on snow.

The Cooper is a brand most of us have heard of, however in this test the Discoverer All Season did not really perform like that. It was a little better in the dry and wet compared to the previous two tyres, but still 10% off in wet braking which is less than ideal. It also had the highest rolling resistance and the worst snow performance of all the all season tyres, it was a difficult test for the Cooper. Though it was comfortable.
