Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tyre tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Good aquaplaning resistance, excellent comfort, lowest noise on test.
Below average dry, wet and snow performance, high rolling resistance.
The Cooper is a brand most of us have heard of, however in this test the Discoverer All Season did not really perform like that. It was a little better in the dry and wet compared to the previous two tyres, but still 10% off in wet braking which is less than ideal. It also had the highest rolling resistance and the worst snow performance of all the all season tyres, it was a difficult test for the Cooper. Though it was comfortable.
All-rounder with balanced safe driving characteristics on ice and snow, decent safety reserves for aquaplaning, short snow and dry braking distances, quiet passing noise, low price level.
Understeering handling and delayed steering response on dry roads, increased rolling resistance.
Short snow braking distances, very good aquaplaning properties, low price.
Understeer balance on snow and wet roads, slow steering response, moderate comfort, increased rolling resistance.

Latest Cooper Discoverer All Season Reviews

Given 90% while driving a Peugeot 3008 (215/60 R16) on a combination of roads for 50,000 spirited miles
I bought this tyre from Camskill at very low promotional price. They did over 50 k miles and I am really impressed from the accuracy of steering and handling. These tyres like wet roads and feels like they grip more. I tried premium tyres and these were better and quieter and I wish I can find them again on offer.
