Falken Ziex ZE320 offers a good mix of comfort and safety. Compared to its predecessor ZE310, braking performance has improved, with some of the shortest stopping distances in the group. The driving experience is well-liked, with good stability and easy-to-manage behaviour in emergency manoeuvres. Comfort is solid: calm straight-line feel, soft response over joints and bumps, and reasonable noise levels. On the downside, fuel consumption is slightly higher and wet curve grip sits just behind the best. The tyre is easy to control at the grip limit. Consistently high scores across all tests put it just off the podium.

The Ziex ZE320 narrowly misses a good safety rating. The summary notes modest steering precision on dry roads and sensitivity to heat, although it has the shortest dry-braking distance in the test. On wet roads it performs well in braking and handling but only fairly in aquaplaning. Environmental performance is “fair” because of mediocre mileage, but low wear, low weight and low fuel consumption contribute to good efficiency. Strengths include very short dry braking, good wet-road performance, low abrasion and very low weight, while weaknesses include deficits on dry roads, susceptibility to aquaplaning and only satisfactory mileage.

The new Falken immediately emerged as a stand‑out performer. The Ziex delivered unexpectedly high sporting capability while remaining well balanced and comfortable. In handling tests it guided the VW T‑Cross with “stoic calm” through corners and avoided any pushing or wobbling, giving drivers plenty of confidence and driving pleasure. This blend of agility, stability and comfort earned it overall victory.

The Falken Ziex ZE 320 "never takes off on wet roads." The Falken brakes poorly when conditions are cool. In warmer weather, it grips better, but with an uneasy driving feel. Both the front and/or rear tyres of the Falken can skid unexpectedly on wet roads. On dry roads, the Falken is really good, doing exactly what the driver wants. The Falken Ziex ZE 320 suffers from high rolling resistance. It scored 7.6 points, the lowest among the summer tyres.

2025 Auto Bild Summer Performance Tyre Test

The Falken Ziex ZE320 delivered outstanding driving dynamics and the shortest braking distances on dry surfaces besides Bridgestone. It performed exceptionally well in wet conditions with excellent agility and good grip, achieving the fastest speed in the wet handling test at 73.9 km/h. Its quiet rolling noise (72.1 dB) added to overall comfort, though its more limited mileage of 35,520 kilometers was the main weakness holding it back from the top tier. Still, the Falken impressed with its balanced performance and sporty character, earning a solid "good" rating.
