Firestone Destination LE3
Replaced by the Destination LE4 Replaces the Destination LE2
The Firestone Destination LE3 is an all-season touring tyre with some strong braking, winter-grip and efficiency results. Its test record varies considerably, with less convincing steering and dry handling and conflicting wet-road findings.
The Firestone Destination LE3 earned a Highly recommended verdict and second place among seven tyres in the 2026 Tyre Reviews HT All Season test. It led snow braking and snow cornering, was second in wet handling and dry braking, and had the second-lowest rolling resistance. These results support a well-balanced road tyre in that comparison, though its dry handling lap was slowest by a small margin and dirt handling felt less progressive than the best.
The strong wet result was unusual beside the 2024 Tire Rack highway test, where it was eighth of nine overall with weaker wet braking, slower grip recovery and loose steering. That test favoured its cushioning and noise control. Winter results also need context: in the broader 2026 Tire Rack truck field, snow braking was 20th of 30 despite the win in the smaller highway-tyre comparison, while ice braking and acceleration were stronger. The different fields and sizes make a uniformly strong wet or snow verdict difficult. This assessment rests on tests, without owner experience to establish durability.
