Across 122 reviews, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric is most often praised as a confidence-inspiring ultra-high-performance summer tyre with standout wet grip and strong dry cornering/braking. Many drivers report improved steering feel, stability, and a quieter/more comfortable ride versus common OEM alternatives (Pirelli/Bridgestone/Continental). The main recurring drawback is tread life variability-some owners see excellent mileage, but a sizable minority report rapid wear and higher running costs. A smaller but repeated theme is increased road noise on coarse surfaces or as the tyre wears, and it is widely noted as unsuitable for snow/very cold conditions.

I always remember having the Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3, I loved this tyre. However the Assymmetric version is better in terms of stronger tyre wall, so the car feels more stable on the road in the corners. The grip however in the wet is better but in the wet, I think the GSD3 is on equal par, its just that the GSD3 tread was more tailored as a summer tyre. The road noise was the same as the GSD3. Again its a shame that the tread pattern is less attractive, but for the perspective of becoming a tyre to last the driver throughout the course of the year its definitely the more practical choice. Especially as the UK climate is changing and our winter weathers have the risk of snow. The tread pattern on the Assymmetric is better as a winter and snow type so another plus.
As for cost, it did not last me long, but I enjoyed every drive and turn. I will look forward to getting the Goodyear Eagle Assymmetric 2 at some point as this is mean't to be a different compund which does last longer, and I think in this economy we might look or that value for money for out Car shoes to last just a little bit longer.
Again good attempt Goodyear, the tread appeal has gone, but they perform well. When I get the Assymmentric 2's, I will post up my point of view.
I would recommend to just go for the Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 2 as this is a better version of the ones I bought.
I recently bought these tyres for my Honda Civic Type R (FN2) to replace the Yokohoma Advanced Sport which were previously on the car.
I must say I am really impressed by the grip of these tyres , they really stick to the road like glue. I feel fully confident taking bends/corners at speed. Performance both in dry and wet conditions is remarkable.
I can not really comment on the tyre life as I have only driven

I'm the sort of driver (and biker) who I firmly believes that tyres are one of, if not the most important component on your car or bike. I push my car quite hard from time to time, doing track days and trips to the Nurburgring etc, and for me the way a tyre grips and handles is the most important thing. These Goodyears have excellent grip wet or dry, with wet grip particularly impressive. Good feedback, predictable at the limit, quiet running, and after over 10600 miles they have between 3 and 4mm of tread left. A very difficult tyre to fault for me. Would buy again as long as German made ones are still available (I'm told they are now made in China and I've heard horror stories of poor grip, although Goodyear claim they are the same).
Which tyres do you drive?
Researching the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric? Rate the tyres you actually drive - and help the next buyer choose.
great when new, but suffered from tramlining effects very badly even when running over the white lines when they were > half worn, actually throwing the car around.
Absolutely superb Tyres , highly recommend to anyone , fantastic dry grip and truly awesome wet grip , beat all rounder I've ever had , had them for 12000 miles and still 5 mm thread left an that's unreal for a performance tyre,
I am very disappointed with the tires, they have approx 23000 miles & they started getting very noisy at 10000, I have had them balanced & rotated several times & they have cupped badley, the original RSA'S were good when people ride with us they often ask about the road noise, they are way to expensive to preform so poorly. i had these tyres fitted because ive heard great reviews on them. ive now done about 6000 miles and these tyres are just brilliant. i cant find a fault with the tyres at all. they are super grippy in the dry and wet and dont let go in heavy cornering. the tyres are very grippy in the wet almost to a stage that you really dont change your driving style from dry conditions because they are so confidence inspiring. the comfort levels again are excellent and there is minimal tyre noise. i had them on during the winter snow and they held on ok, nothing great but they are ultra high perfomance SUMMER tyres. so they arent designed for snow so again no fault there. the only pain is that they are quite soft and due to this they wear down quite quickly and they are expensive so if you do high milage it could become costly. would highly recommend to anyone without a second thought as long as your willing to pay the higher asking price.
Teriible. I was advised to have these tyres on the S4 (V8) as they were the best suited for the car. Grip in both dry and wet were great. Road noise was minimal. The BIG downside is the longevity. 8000 miles - and I'm no Lewis Hamilton (well...not everyday!)
Would I buy again? NO. I would expect at least 12-15000 miles from a tyre.
Lookin3 or Falken 452's next.
Very good grip levels in dry and wet, 'though I would rate them behind the Michelin PS2 I had previously. Under hard acceleration, they can squirm about quite a bit, something I've not experienced with other tyres.
I did have Continental (they came with the car) and they never lasted more than 10,000 miles, tram0lined and were noisy. The GY F1 have done 15K on the front (just about to change them) and 20K on the back (still loads of tread)
Just had my car serviced and was told the rears have 3.5mm of tread left. They have now covered a total 30k and I think there is about 5k left as they are on the rear.
I really have been impressed by these Eagle F1A's not only is the tread pattern nice but the side walls are square and look good on the RS6 style alloys, plus they have worn evenly across both tyres.
Now the dry grip is superb but the real test for these tyres is how good they are in the wet and TBH they are excellent. I have had them on daily commute to work which is 74 miles and on the motorway they cruise nicely. On some of the A and B roads I have had them on they have been awesome in all conditions. I'm not going to write a review about how good they are or are not in snow as they are a SUMMER TYRE!
But regular high speed blasts on the motorway and A roads and they just inspire total confidence, grip and control. The ONLY downside of these tyres if any is the slightly high rolling resistance so for me it has been -2 mpg compared to some others I have tried before namely the PS2, but I regularly get 50+ mpg anyway.
