Performance Analysis

The Linglong Grip Master 4S has a better braking-screen record than its one full all-season assessment suggests. Auto Bild placed it 20th of 35 in the 2023 shootout and 14th of 37 in the 2024 market overview, before an unusually strong fourth of 30 in the 2025 braking comparison. Dry braking was the stronger part of that 2025 result, third at 38.2m, just 0.5% longer than best; wet braking was tenth at 47.5m. This was a braking comparison, not a full assessment of winter and road behaviour.
In the full 2024 Auto Bild test it finished last of 15 overall. Its 59.8m wet stop was 25.6% longer than best, with weak wet handling, limited aquaplaning reserves and poor snow results. Rolling resistance was also highest at 9.45kg/t. The testers nevertheless described safe dry handling, good comfort and high mileage. Projected life was 49,300km, ninth of 15, while cost per 1,000km was best at 7.2 euros. Noise was another favourable result at 72dB. The unusual 2025 braking improvement is encouraging within that narrower comparison, but does not resolve the full test's wet, snow and efficiency shortcomings.
