Tread life is the main strength of the Michelin Primacy HP, with 73 positive mentions against 30 complaints, supported by several mid-life and end-of-life accounts. Dry grip is generally favourable at 50 positive comments against nine negative, and wet grip at 39 against 16, although confidence in rain is less consistent. Comfort is more often praised than criticised, but noise is divided at 29 positive comments and 22 complaints. Around one in nine criticise value, while around a fifth criticise wear despite the overall favourable balance. Repeat reviewers show no shared direction of change, and individual reports of grip or noise deteriorating with wear do not establish a uniform ageing pattern.

The car has been mainly used for work carrying myself, at least one crew member, sometimes three plus our equipment averaging 50kg. This is my fourth espace and is the first one that I feel confident will stop ok in the wet! ( due to the larger wheels/tyres? ). All the espace models have been fitted with michelin extra load tyres but this is the best so far. I'm on the third set at 95,000 miles with about 10,000 left. My only gripe is the cost of these tyres.

I usually fit Michelins to all my Citroens and after trying a few other brands, have found that the C5 really does suit them.
I find these Primacy HPs offer very good dry drip, a reasonably quiet ride, decent ride quality and very good wet grip.
Grip in the dry is excellent, its very progressive and you really have to be pushing very fast through bends to have the start of understeer. Wet grip is very good too, they grip very well during wet cornering and when they do start to let go its progressive again. Some tyres are all grip and then nothing, these are predictable. They could be better in standing water, the Toyo T1-Rs I had fitted at one point were superior for aquaplaning.
Compared to my previous Michelin Primacy Pilots, these Primacy HPs do have less steering feel and don't seem to have made up for that in a better ride quality. They are superior in ride quality to the Goodyear Excellence tyres I tried, which were awful tyres!
Wear rates I find excellent, its a heavy diesel car with a lot of torque and I drive spiritedly and press on around bends. I got 18K miles from my last pair (Michelin pilots) and expect to get similar from these. They lasy longer than any other brand I have tried on C5s, they suit the car nicely and grip well. Well worth the money in my opinion.
I notice there are a good few Citroen C4 Picasso owners complaining of poor wear with these tyres. However its quite well known now that those cars toe in at the rear, making all 4 tyres wear out in a very similar mileage.
I might have a change next time, maybe Uniroyal Rainsport2s or Conti PremiumContact5s. However I might go for the new Michelin Primacy HP3s.

These have just been replaced on the front of my S-MAX lasting 13000 down to 2mm. Once at 3-4 mm wet weather use was very poor. Aqua planing was very bad leading me to really slow down below the flow of traffic. They have been replaced with Continental Sport Contact that feel a lot more responsive.

Early mk4 Golf GTI Turbo with no traction control, and you could launch it hard, wet or dry, with very little scrabble. Even situations like accelerating hard out of tight T-junctions where the car used to just light up the fronts on its previous P6000s, these Primacys just grip and go. Very little road noise, good life (mild feathering of shoulders only after 10,000 hard driven miles), and gave a level of steering feedback that I didn't think the car was capable of delivering.
Very good tyres. Expensive, but worth it.

Bought 2 Michelin Primacy HP at 14,517 miles for my 2009 X Type 2.2 saloon; replacing the original Pirellis. At the first MOT at 27,699 miles I got the following report: "Tyre worn close to the legal limit" for both new tyres. My driving style is not aggressive and consists of 50% town and 50% motorway so just over 13,000 miles from the Michelins was not what I had expected and is very disappointing.

I am using those tyres on my Audi A4 8E. My driving experience is about 14 years. Primacy HP is the best tyre I have ever had. It is stable, quite and comfortable. I do not feel road paintings any more!

Came with the car I bought second hand from a dealership, all four tyres looked new.
Absolutely lethal in the snow, bad in the wet and only mediocre in the dry. Very noisy. Winter Nokian tyres are better all round and more fuel efficient, even at 15c.
Winter tyres now due to be swapped over. Changing for Hankook Evo v12 k110s, that seem to get excellent reviews with a more reasonable price tag.

Great for summer use, especially on larger vehicles. Quiet and comfortable. However, totally gripless on snow and ice even when new - you are better off walking in severe winter conditions. Have got through a set of fronts about every 17,000 miles and rears perhaps 25,000. I don't drive particularly hard but do have to accelerate confidently to join a main road safely each weekday morning.
