Michelin X Ice Snow+

Premium Touring Winter Winter rated

Replaces the Michelin X Ice Snow

The Michelin X-Ice Snow+ is Michelin's studless winter tyre for cars and SUVs, and a refinement of the X-Ice Snow rather than an all-new design. The main change is Michelin's FlexIce 3.0 tread compound, which Michelin says is aimed at longer tread life and better grip in the wet. Like its predecessor it carries both the three-peak mountain snowflake and the ice grip marking, so it is built for long winters with regular snow and ice rather than mild, mostly wet ones.

A fixed curve turns the combined figure into the 0 to 10 score, so roughly the top 10% of a group score 9 or more.

Held at 8.5: a tyre needs 3 independent tests to score higher.

2026 Tire Rack New Winter Tyre Test P3 of 3

The X-Ice Snow+ finishes third in a close test. As an update of the X-Ice Snow it brings the sharpest steering and the best wet grip in the group, which makes it a strong choice where winter brings more cold rain than deep snow, as long as a little more road noise is acceptable.
