Each row is one published test in which both tyres ran on the same car, in the same size, on the same day. The line is the whole field, winner on the left.

Point at or tap any spoke for both tyres' figures.

In each test the better of the two figures counts as 100% and the other as its share of it, so a 36 m stop against 34.2 m is 95%; each spoke averages the shared tests that recorded it. The scale stops at 96%: a point further in sits on the hub's edge, hollow. 10 measurements recorded in only one shared test are left off; every measurement is in the table further down.

Braking distances and lap times are better when lower; speeds, wear and grip figures when higher. A test's figures are its own: sizes, cars, surfaces and temperatures differ from one to the next, which is why the averages here are only ever of tests the two tyres shared. "Scored" rows are subjective driver ratings: each test uses its own scale, so only the wins are counted.

Falken Azenis FK520

  • 82%from 56 reviews
  • 77%would buy again
  • 418,489 milesdriven by reviewers

Owners generally rate the Falken Azenis FK520 highly (average 79.6%), most often praising its strong dry grip and capable wet grip for the money. Comfort and refinement also come through well, with many describing it as quiet and compliant for a UHP-style tyre, and around one in five explicitly calling it great value. The main recurring drawbacks are mixed steering feel (some find it sharp, others a bit numb) and a smaller but notable group reporting vibration/balance issues; wet handling is also more divided than outright wet grip.

  • Strong dry grip, comparable to premium brands
  • Reassuring wet grip
  • Comfortable ride despite sporty intent
  • Low road noise on motorway speeds
  • Occasional vibration or balancing issues at speed
  • Steering feel can be a bit numb or lacking feedback
  • Wet handling feels less confidence-inspiring for some

Falken Azenis fk520 have been a great tyre, noise level is not intrusive and they give a good return on fuel economy. These tyres are very progressive and give good feed back. Having watched a back to back comparison with the Michelin PS4, the Falkens are punching way above their price range. If you want near PS4 performance at kumho prices, you won't go far wrong...will definitely try out the latest incarnation, Falken azenis R820 when the fk520's are done.

Nexen N Fera Sport SU2

  • 70%from 18 reviews
  • 38%would buy again
  • 141,160 milesdriven by reviewers

Drivers describe the Nexen N Fera Sport SU2 as a strong value-focused performance tyre with very good dry and wet grip, confident handling, and stability at speed for the money. However, a large share of users report short tread life (often with heavy/uneven shoulder wear) and many also mention poor refinement as the tyre ages, including increased road noise and a harsher ride. Overall sentiment is mixed, with performance praised but longevity and comfort commonly limiting repeat purchases.

  • Very good dry grip and handling
  • Strong wet grip and confidence in rain
  • Good value/price versus premium brands
  • Stable and predictable at higher speeds
  • Fast wear/short tread life (often uneven shoulder wear)
  • High road noise and mediocre comfort/harsh ride
  • Weaker performance in cold temperatures

I've driven the tyre's about 40 000km on my family diesel wagon. The final result is four summers and they're gone. The protector is about 4mm,the outer side of the tires is melted like slick tire, and pieces of rubber come off. After a little bump one of the tires got a puncture in the side board, which surprised me a little, but for the price everything is OK.The grip is very good in wet and dry, they perform good in dynamic driving...when they new :)

Reading the results

Written from the test results and owner reviews above. It is analysis, not a measurement: where it and the tables disagree, the tables are right.

Eight shared tests, six wins for the Falken Azenis FK520, and the two the Nexen N Fera Sport SU2 took were both in 2026: 9th of 20 against 13th in Auto Bild's summer test and 3rd of 50 against 14th in its braking super test.

Away from those, the Falken has the better record. It was 4th of 10 at ACE in 2026 with the Nexen last, 8th of 21 at Auto Bild in 2023 with the Nexen 17th, 7th of 11 at Sport Auto with the Nexen last, and 8th of 18, 6th of 10 and 8th of 48 elsewhere. It braked shorter in the wet in five of seven tests and it rolled with less resistance in all four measurements.

Wear is the other landslide. The Falken lasted longer in all three measurements, 52,080km against 47,810km at Auto Bild in 2026 and 46,700km against 43,700km at ADAC, and it abraded far less, 1305g against 1719g.

Conclusion

The Falken Azenis FK520 is the better tyre on the balance of eight shared tests, winning six. Its clearest results are 4th of 10 at ACE in 2026 where the Nexen N Fera Sport SU2 was last of ten, 7th of 11 at Sport Auto where the Nexen was again last, and 8th of 21 at Auto Bild in 2023 against 17th. It braked shorter in the wet in five of seven tests and in the dry in four of seven, it won three of four dry handling comparisons, and it rolled with less resistance in all four measurements, 7.71 against 8.04 kg/t at Auto Bild in 2026. It also lasted longer in all three wear measurements and abraded far less, 1305g against 1719g at Auto Bild and 61.9 against 74.7mg/km/t at ADAC. Owners score it 8.70 across 43 reviews against 8.00 from 17.

The Nexen N Fera Sport SU2 has one very strong card: braking on its day. It was 3rd of 50 in Auto Bild's 2026 braking super test with the Falken 14th, and 9th of 20 in the full test with the Falken 13th, stopping 4 percent shorter in the dry, 33.9m against 35.3m. It was also quieter in all five noise measurements, cheaper in all three price comparisons, 84 against 96 at Sport Auto, and it won three of four wet handling comparisons.

Note how those recent Nexen wins sit against the older pattern. The two 2026 Auto Bild results are its best in this comparison by a distance, while at Sport Auto and ACE it finished last of the field with the Falken mid-pack. On the whole record the Falken is the safer buy, and the tread life gap makes it the cheaper one to run despite the higher ticket price.

Where this data comes from

Finishing positions and measurements are transcribed from each published test. A test only counts here when both tyres ran in it, so every figure was recorded on the same car, size and day as the one it is compared to.

About the TR Score

The Tyre Reviews Score rates each tyre out of 10 from every independent test result and vetted owner review we hold, so two tyres can be compared even before a test has run them together.
