Avon Cobra Chrome rated 66% while driving a Honda 1.6 I DTEC
Driving on mostly country roads for 8000 average miles
Big tread separation on the tread cap on a recent California tour. Cost me a day of my vacation and about $900 to resolve. I had 8000 miles on these tires. Very dangerous experiencing a large 10” long blister on my front tire tread cap at 70 mph. Until I got the bike stopped (Goldwing), I thought I was going to drop the bike. These tires gave no warning, pressures always spot on, bike garaged when not being driven, no abnormal tread wear, etc. Boom! Tire gives out 22 miles from nearest parts store/hotel/towing service. You get the picture. Avoid Avon tires!

General GRABBER AT2 rated 93% while driving a Ford F 150
Driving on mostly country roads for 50 spirited miles
I have bought 3 sets of General's Grabber AT2 -and have been extremely satisfied with every purchase. I've had them on 2 F-150 4×4 trucks and a full size Bronco and they've never let me down. Coming from owning BFG TA all-terrain tires in the past, the AT2/ATX is every bit as good, but last longer and cost much less and are still made in the USA! Excellent dry and wet traction give you supreme confidence in driving in good and adverse weather conditions. But Snow and even ice traction is where I really noticed how wonderful they really are for not being a dedicated winter tire! I almost never put my Bronco in 4wd; in fact, my uncle didn't believe me and I tossed him the keys and he took it to check on the gas wells during a very cold and snowy day going into the back country of Western Pennsylvania on gas line trails that were up to 2' snow drifts -and he made it all in hilly terrain without using 4wd!! He was amazed because he used a Jeep Grand Cherokee normally and always had to put it in 4wd to get to the well heads. Now, my Bronco did have a locking rear differentiate, but still most impressive. He said he would've never believed it until he saw it for himself! I won't own anything else but these Generals when a vehicle calls for all terrain tires.
