Bridgestone Turanza T005A
The Bridgestone Turanza T005A is a summer touring tyre with consistent support for comfort, generally quiet running and owner-reported tread life. Wet braking was strong in its one test, but wet handling, aquaplaning resistance, dry braking and rolling resistance were less competitive.
The Bridgestone Turanza T005A has its clearest strengths in comfort and refinement. Owners repeatedly praise a comfortable, generally quiet ride, while later-life accounts support good tread life. The 2023 APAC test in 225/45 R18 reinforces the comfort result, placing it first of six subjectively and first and second in two measured noise assessments. Subjective noise was only fourth, so the measured advantage was not matched fully by the driving impression.
Wet performance needs more qualification. The test placed wet braking second, but wet handling fifth and straight aquaplaning last, while owner grip reports are divided. Dry braking and rolling resistance also trailed most rivals. A returning owner describes falling grip and rising noise, and another later-life account mentions poorer cold wet performance, but these do not establish a universal ageing pattern. Its comfort and owner-reported longevity are more firmly supported than sporty handling, efficiency or consistently strong wet-road confidence.

Bridgestone Turanza T005A Owner Reviews
Review this tyreWhat owners say summarised from 10 reviews
The Bridgestone Turanza T005A is most consistently praised for ride comfort, quiet running and tread life, with eight of ten reviews positive overall. Mid-life and end-of-life accounts support the favourable wear reports, including long service with tread remaining. Grip is less settled: dry comments are divided and wet grip draws slightly more criticism than praise, with concerns in around a third of reviews. One returning owner reports declining grip and increasing noise, while another later-life account describes poorer cold wet performance. These are useful cautions, but do not establish a universal ageing pattern.

“Tyres at 22k km. Wear is good, but the dry and wet grip performance dropped. Noise increases significantly especially on coarse road, it got that "roaring" sound keeps coming into the cabin. Current measured Db is at...”
“I’ve been using the Turanza T005A since day one — they came stock with the car. After about 80,000 km and four and a half years, there’s still roughly 20% tread left. I rotate the tyres every 10k km, so that probably...”

I don’t really push the tyres to their limit, but I definitely take corners faster than the average driver because I enjoy it. The T005A holds up well and I always feel in control. Dry grip is solid with nothing to complain about. Wet grip is decent too, though you can feel a bit of aquaplaning when hitting bigger puddles.
Overall, great tyre life, good comfort, and reliable performance — just not the sportiest or the grippiest in heavy rain.
For the average driver, it’s pretty much the best bang for the buck. I mean… who’s really pushing an ordinary SUV like a sports car anyway?

For the 4 seasons, the tyres worked ok in dry and fairly well in wet as well. The longevity I'd say is pretty exceptional (considering the reviews of others) as now when I'm writing this review, they still have slightly over 5mm of tread depth, so in that regard, they would work for a couple more seasons... Unfortunately, during this last year they've become very sensitive to temperatures and driving in the wet below 15 °C is a very unpleasant experience, which is why I'm considering this being the end of life. If I lived in a warmer climate, I'd probably consider using them further.
This is a 2nd review of these tyres from me. The other review I wrote was when the tyres were still fairly new on the T005 tyre (there wasn't T005A tyre listed here before).
I'm thinking of replacing them with Hankook Ventus Evo or Falken Ziex 320 following spring...
