The Dunlop SP Sport Maxx TT generally finished in the upper half or middle of its eight summer tests, with dry performance and handling drawing the more favourable comments. It was second of 17 in the 2010 ADAC test, second of six in the 2010 Autocar rear-wheel-drive comparison and fourth of eleven in the 2010 Auto Express test, where strong dry performance was highlighted. Auto Motor Und Sport praised manageable wet and dry handling and steering precision in 2010. In 2011, Auto Bild noted balanced behaviour, good aquaplaning reserves and short wet and dry braking distances.
The 2011 results were less consistent. Third of 14 in Auto Zeitung was unusually strong against seventh of ten in both Auto Express and Auto Bild that year, with Auto Zeitung praising its agility. Auto Express described broadly middle-of-the-road performance but singled out rolling resistance as a weakness. Auto Bild also noted slightly less wet grip and only moderate ride comfort. These are tester assessments rather than a detailed set of measured discipline results, so the overall placings support a mixed-to-favourable record without establishing repeated wins in individual disciplines.
