Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 Owner Reviews

Review this tyre

What owners say summarised from 165 reviews

Owners broadly agree the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 delivers strong all-round performance, with particularly high confidence in dry and wet grip, and many noting a quieter, smoother ride than previous fitments. Comfort and low noise are frequent highlights, and a good number also report it feels secure and capable when pushed on dry roads. The main reservations are that tread life and steering feel can be hit-and-miss (raised by around a quarter of owners), while around one in ten specifically complain of overly soft sidewalls and a small but notable minority report puncture vulnerability.

Driving a mazda rx-8 from 2008. Previously I had the Falken fk452's (fitted on 2010) which at the time were the best of the best (value for money) there was. These tires so far are outperforming the falkens for quite a bit! As compared with Potenza's and Supersport's they are BETTER hands down. I drive both aggressively and regularly both on highways and urban environments and the road feel you get from these tires are excellent! Even when using a lower profile (40's from 45's) the feedback is excellent and the noise is very minimal. For tear I cant say much yet, but they are doing pretty good so far! And I saved the best for last. The grip level of those tires are seriously the best you can get for this category hands down! Unless you are going semi or full slick, then this is what you should get. Having driven many friends's cars (all the same car as mine) with the other top 10 tires fitted, I can honestly say this your choice. On track days those tires posted on average, -4s / -5s of a normal lap, which is almost unbelievable! The price on those premium tires was almost the lowest on all the top10 in the list, which was a huge surprise to me as I would have expected to pay up to 1k euros for 4 new tires of this performance, yet I paid only half that!!!! I would definitely buy again in the future, and would write a review again when I reach 10k miles! All in all seriously go for it! -Lefsef

Replaced the old set of Continental CSC2 with this tyre. Only done 200km so far and, based on first impressions, this tyre is excellent. Much quieter than the CSC2. Grip on dry roads is very good (haven't driven in the wet yet). Very happy with the tyre. Will provide more reviews after 5000km.

Just had these put on my RX8. The previous tyres were a budget brand fitted by the previous owner. The car is now quiet and relaxing to drive. When pressing on, the feedback provided by the tyres really helps to know where the limits are and when those limits are reached, everything happens progressively and smoothly. I will definitely buy these tyres again.
I have no idea about wet grip/handling or longevity yet, but will do another review after a few thousand miles

Compared to Michelin Pilot Sport 2 these feel a bit softer, at least the walls. Dry grip is at the same level as PS2... Comfort and noise are far better then PS2... On wear can't say anything but I'm afraid they'll wear out much quicker than PS2. All in all nice tyre for a reasonable price...

Replaced OE Bridgestone S001 with these new Goodyear F1 ASY 3. Just completed first 3K miles and am impressed with tyre. Looks good on the alloy with a good rim protection element. Tyres have proved grippy in both wet and dry conditions and it's a comfortable quiet journey once you get your tyre pressures bang on. It's relatively early days but so far impressed with tyre.

previously have been on 2 sets of F1 A2, i have been good year supporter ever since i am using F1A2. The tyre was quieter than A2 and was also more comfortable despite the low profile tyre i am using rolling resistance was very good. grip on both dry and wet and braking is comparable to F1 A2.

Will definitely buy again.

Paid premium for these. Rather disappointed as it isn't a big improvement over the old ones

First impressions are excellent having had these tyres fitted for 2 months and just over 4,000 mixed road miles.
These tyres are noticeably quieter, more comfortable and responsive than anything I have experienced previously. Grip is faultless in wet or dry and easily handels the power and weigh of this car. A tyre that matches the refinement, performance and surperb handling of the XF.
Would certainly recommend and buy again.

Maybe it's because I am changing from mid-range tyres manufacturer to premium but boy what a difference those made. I haven't pushed them to the limit on braking but lateral grip was thoroughly tested.

I am very happy with every penny I've spent on them.

Best tires ever - considerably better than Asymmetric 1 and even better than the Asymmetric 2, can't fault them in any category, superb. Will be buying again definitely.
