Initial Impressions Review
Given 60% while driving a Volkswagen (235/45 R18) on for 5,000 miles
Drove these tyres on mixed roads . 5k miles so far . I cant say yet about the wear or if i would buy them again . Honestly its fair price for what u get . The comfort is really good and road noise too they are quiet tires . Tested them on highway for like 250 km keeping the car 140/180 km/h . Noticed a bit of vibration(no alignment or balancing problems i dont neglect anything ). The road feedback and grip isn't statisfying . U dont know how much u can push or how much they will hold on corners as the car tends to shift its weight and that scares me a bit causing unnecesary brake or steering corrections . Same also on country roads and mountains on +15°C all conditions When u drive smoothly they are a breeze but sometimes i like to be an aggresive driver and these tyres dont give u so much confidence in grip . Drove mostly on dry weather . But for the miles i did on wet is pretty much the same thing . When it comes to breaking they are smooth and really good on low speeds but on city scenarios i had (a lot of them ) when u brake suddenly and hard u cant predict where the car is going to stop . So far saved me a lot of times and they did a good job but still no confidence (Brake pads and discs front and back were changed 1k miles before the tyres . (ATE brakes) Grip is different in diferent types of tarmac . Previous tyres i had were hankook ventus prime 2 and no compare with pirelli's for the grip . Hankook a lot beter . The car felt glued to the road but now u have to always be extra careful . Overall i can say these tyres are for the relaxed and safe drivers and they are really good for comfort ,noise and milleage . Grip is exellent when u are a safe driver and dont push the car . If u drive agressively these tyres dont give confidence at all . Not sure buying again.
