Tyre Reviews tests and data are used well beyond our own pages. The European Commission names us in a 2026 regulation, research for the Commission and at universities draws on our results, tyre makers put our verdicts in their annual reports and adverts, and the motoring press has reported our tests in 12 languages.

Each source below links to the original, and we read every one before adding it. The line under each says what the source does with our work and no more: a tyre maker reporting a win for its own tyre is not independent praise, and a student's thesis is not the view of the university.

Regulators and public bodies

Public bodies use Tyre Reviews as a reference on tyre brands and on choosing tyres. These documents use our classification or data as one source among several, which is a citation, not an endorsement.

Research and universities

Researchers working for and with the European Commission, and students at universities across Europe, use our test data and reports. Where the underlying test was run by Auto Bild, ADAC or another publication and reported by us, the entry says so.

Tyre makers

Tyre makers cite our results in annual reports, investor presentations, press releases, adverts and product pages. A maker reporting a win for its own tyre is not independent praise, but it shows the industry treats our results as evidence. Makers have no say in our results, and we have never accepted payment for one: the rules are in Ethics and independence.

Frequently asked questions

Has Tyre Reviews been cited by regulators or in research?

Yes. The European Commission's 2026 anti-dumping regulation on car and light truck tyres from China names Tyre Reviews among the specialised websites it used to classify tyre brands into tiers. A draft preparatory study for the Commission's tyre ecodesign rules uses our comfort rating as its example, and researchers at the Commission's Joint Research Centre have analysed our data in a published paper and in a presentation to the UNECE task force on vehicle sound. Theses at Cardiff University, Brno University of Technology and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University use our reports.

Which tyre makers cite Tyre Reviews?

Michelin, Continental, Pirelli, Goodyear, Bridgestone, Hankook, Nokian Tyres, Apollo Tyres (Vredestein), Falken, Dunlop and Maxxis have cited our results in their own publications. Continental and Pirelli do so in their annual reports, Nokian Tyres, Pirelli and Apollo in investor presentations, and Goodyear describes Tyre Reviews as "a leading source of independent tyre information".

Which publications have reported Tyre Reviews tests?

Jonathan Benson has been featured as a tyre expert on BBC Radio 4, in Top Gear Magazine and MotorTrend. Motor1, Jalopnik, Carscoops, Road & Track, Popular Mechanics, evo, The Drive, CarThrottle and InsideEVs have reported our tests, as have publications in Norway, Italy, Spain, Poland, Croatia, Slovakia, Portugal, Serbia, Greece, Sweden and Canada.

Does a citation mean the organisation endorses Tyre Reviews?

No. A citation shows that an organisation used our results or data as evidence, which is why we list it, but it is not an endorsement. Each entry says what the source does with our work, and where a source reports a test that another publication ran, or uses a single figure from us, the entry says that too.
