Dunlop Econodrive — rated 46%
while driving a Mercedes Benz Vito · Driving on mostly motorways for 20 average miles
Severe fracturing & chunks missing from tyres after 30k of highway travelling. Not normal wear & tear and needed replacement due to damage & unsafe condition. Noisy at highway speed.
Used on Vito van with light loads.

Hankook Vantra LT — rated 47%
while driving a Ford Transit Custom · Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 average miles
Wet grip would be comical if it weren’t dangerous. Diesel van spin up tyres in 3rd gear when pulling away or accelerating. On a corner just a little too much (or too little) accelerator can have you under steering. Would add that the van didn’t do any of this on Goodyears fitted previously. Can’t wait to get them replaced but being a lease they won’t do it until less than 2mm of tread. It was dangerous in the wet with 7mm when new so that should be fun.

Dunlop Econodrive — rated 44%
while driving a Mercedes Benz Vito · Driving on a combination of roads for 35000 easy going miles
These were original on my new Vito van. After 40000km I noticed braking distance was affected and gradually got worse. Now at 53000km they are just plain dangerous with chunks or rubber missing from all 4.

while driving a Mercedes Benz · Driving on a combination of roads for 7000 spirited miles
I've had these tyres on two Vito Tourers.
They only last 7000 to 8000 kms. Chunks of rubber start to come off and the noise levels just become insane.
I do not recommend these tyres for the Vito Tourer.
Weirdly enough ~ although the vans are RWD, the front tyres get worn out before the rear ones.

Falken Linam VAN01 — rated 31%
while driving a Peugeot Expert · Driving on mostly town for 21000 average miles
I replaced my worn front tyres with these at the advice of the garage. My van previously had Michelin Agilis 51 that had covered aprox 35k miles.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend these tyres. They were on in the dry, but as soon as it rained these had no grip and it was difficult to put traction down when coming out of junctions. I also did not feel confident in their stopping ability, especially in the wet.

After only 21k miles they had worn down to 3mm. As my rear Agilis had now worn to 2mm (at 55k I’ll add) I decided to change all 4 tyres at the same time. When I ran the numbers I calculated the cost per 1k mile was actually higher with the Falkin than the previous tyres, and with a dramatic decrease in ability.

I would strongly recommend someone to look elsewhere for tyres. There price now means they aren’t even so ‘midrange’ as they use to be, getting close to the cost of premier tyres.

Falken Linam VAN01 — rated 88%
while driving a Vauxhall Vivaro · Driving on mostly country roads for 100 spirited miles
Confidence inspiring tyres.
Covered over 100 miles on them in mostly wet conditions.
The old tyres with approx 3mm tread were always spinning on roundabouts when accelerating from stationary.
Conversely these tyres are sticking to the roads well, I have had only 1 small spin on the left tyre. Considering the state of the road surface and my acceleration, this is acceptable.
Compared with other vans, I have found the Vivaro to be quick to spin front tyres and sometimes under steer.
Therefore it is good to have tyres which are grippy and responsive for a reasonable price.
Can’t comment on road noise/mpg - it’s a van so it is noisy and seems to average 33mpg whatever.
I would definitely buy this tyre again.

Nexen Roadian CT8 — rated 63%
while driving a Peugeot Boxer · Driving on a combination of roads for 20000 average miles
Cargo tire with great wear and good dry handling. Unfortunately they are terrible in the wet and the wet characteristics get worse every year as the tire ages. Cornering in the wet is especially bad and feels like a 20 year old tire was fitted. Also very sensitive to temperature, as dry grip decreases significantly if the temps are

Pirelli Chrono Serie 2 — rated 44%
while driving a Rover Range Rover Autobiography · Driving on a combination of roads
In my experience; Pirelli on my ‘kickass’ autobiography VERY POOR. SPLIT EASILY. FLINT CUTS WITH EASE DOWN TO FABRIC ON EVERYDAY ROADS. LAST ALMOST 3500 miles. Yes 3,500!
An incredibly poor tyre with a very short useful life. On my 3rd set in 28,000 miles. And NO. I AM NOT A BOY RACER. JUST A GRANDDAD GETTING THE FAMILY AROUND ON OUR NORMAL RANGE OF GOOD ROADS. NO OFF ROAD CHALLENGES. JUST FAMILY TRIPS.
ABSOLUTE RUBBISH.
I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THEM. EVER. MY ADVICE - DO N O T B U Y T H E M.
