Performance Analysis
Drawn from 5 tests. Updated October 29, 2026.
The Barum Bravuris 3HM has generally finished below the middle in full summer tests, with predictable wet handling more convincing than dry response or comfort. Test World placed it tenth of 16 in 2014 and eleventh of 15 in 2015, while ACE ranked it ninth of 11 in 2014. Both Test World assessments praised wet handling and behaviour without sudden surprises. The 2015 test also described short wet braking distances, although that did not mean high grip in every wet discipline: aquaplaning resistance was specifically poor.
Slow, vague steering on dry roads and low ride comfort recur in both Test World verdicts. In 2014 the tyre was stable but lacked grip and felt hard on uneven surfaces; the 2015 test again found dry handling insufficient and also criticised noise. The larger braking overviews were mixed, with 20th of 50 in Auto Bild's 2016 Market Overview and 33rd of 51 in its 2017 Summer Tyre Shootout. Those rankings do not establish a consistent braking advantage across tests. The record therefore supports manageable wet handling, with repeated compromises in response and comfort and a separate standing-water concern.

2015 Test World Summer Tyre Test
The Barum Bravuris 3 HM has short braking distance on wet roads, and generally cope well with emergency situations, despite the relatively low grip. However, the tyres are too easy to aquaplane. On dry surfaces they react slowly to steering and are vague, but at least they not prone to sudden loss of adhesion. Braking performance is only average. Comfort is low, and noise level is relatively high.
2014 Test World Summer Tyre Test
A balanced tyre. The wet grip is slightly lower than the best tyres, but the Barum has good accountability in all situations without any major handling surprises. On dry roads the tyres react too slowly, and while they're stable the grip isn't great. Disadvantage - it's a hard tyre that becomes immediately apparent on uneven surfaces
