Continental Sport Contact 3 Owner Reviews

Review this tyre

What owners say summarised from 197 reviews

Drivers generally describe the Continental Sport Contact 3 as a strong-performing UHP summer tyre with confident handling, strong braking, and notably good wet-road grip with good resistance to aquaplaning. The most consistent complaint is rapid tread wear (especially on front axles/FWD cars), with many also reporting higher road noise/firm ride and premium pricing. A smaller but recurring theme is tramlining/steering pull on certain cars or as the tyre wears, and some note wet/cold performance can deteriorate later in the tyre's life.

On my vehicle this seems to be a great all rounder. I know this is classified as a summer tyre. However I drove perfectly fine throughout the bad snow of last winter without any noticable difficulties.

I briefly switched to Avon ZV5s which were appalling in comparison, replaced them within 2 weeks.

Are there any better tyres out there for a saab 9-5 estate ? I'm reluctant to even bother trying to find out as I'm very happy with Continental Sports Contact 3's. Although may try the 5's next.

Very balanced tyre very good dry grip, extremely good wet grip, very good under hard braking, wears quickly 11,000miles (pushed hard). Fully recommend as all round tyre and great for wet dry track days due to the progressive feel and great feedback.

good tyre but there's got to be better value for money. They perform well, but having just put some falken 912's on, I've realised how noisy they were! Still, close to legal limit on an incredibly wet journey home, they still didn't aeroplane. Very grippy under heavy cornering and wear has been very even.

Very good tyre giving a confident and comfortable drive in wet or dry.
However, not getting more than 12000 miles from fronts. Original CSC2 gave me 22000miles on the front set.

These tyres have worn so quickly. Probably only had about 6000 miles out of them, not very good for such a great brand, would not be going with these again.

Generally a good tyre and the dry grip and progressivness are impressive. Wet grip is assured and am confident in braking. These are on a Mondeo ST220 running 270 bhp, so wear is a concern. Now before anyone berates me, these are hopeless insnow or ice, hence a winter tyre is a must. They are an excellent, dry road performance tyre. I also run an old BMW 328I touring with Kuhmo ecsta 39's, it got me through winter and I'm embarassed to say how good they are, an no, I don't work for ANY tyre company. In my opinion they are a little too expensive for what they deliver.

Excelent tyre whit great performance in dry and wet conditions.
In dry the grip is outstanding and in wet is also excelent.
The confort is better then my older tyres(Continental Sport Contact 2), and road feedback too.
In terms of wear I can´t not say too much because I put the tyres on last mouth, but I fell they will last like my older continental tyres( 55000km).
I recomend this tyres.

Very good tyre overall performs very well in all situations.
Dry grip is simply amazing and in wet is also very good.
The confort is better then my older tyres(dunlop Sp fast Response and CSC2)
At the moment I run low Km so I can not say how they last, but I hope they last for many km.
