Best Tyres for the BMW 316

I bought four GY EfficientGrip Performance 2 for a BMW 3 series Touring to replace Goodyear runflats. Have always tended to replace runflats with non-runflats at the first opportunity. These tyres immediately drastically improved the comfort level, especially across ruts, patches, potholes and worn surfaces on UK roads. Lower road noise too.

My car has the softer SE-spec suspension and so it doesn't exactly corner that well. But with these tyres, the wet cornering is very good, I've never felt it give me any sign it is starting to struggle with grip. They have made a soft car very driveable in the wet. Aquaplaning performance is particularly good.

BEST BIT for me is the wear resistance. Granted, I do 3000 miles a month down the length of the UK on motorways so clearly the wear on such drives is minimal. And also granted, the car doesn't have a lot of power. But with that said, I have done 62,000 miles on all four with occasional rotation of front to back etc and I still have 5.0mm left on three and 4.5mm on one.
Particularly impressive is that this level of wear resistance doesn't seem to come at the expense of wet or dry grip.

There won't even be any consideration when it comes to replacements. Four more of the same. Simples.

Bought them when I was low on funds. Good grip on dry and wet roads for the price, but the ride comfort was non-existant and I could feel every tiny imperfection in the asphalt. The rears were absolutely shredded at the end of second year, which is not good considering they were made the same year I bought them.

Everything is ok, handling is good, wet and dry grip is not bad but the noise is unbelievable!! very very very noisy tire. if you drive in town, it may not be a problem but in motorways you cant hear the music sound in the car.

I use my f30 ied with stage1 220 hp. Really good in dry and short braking dist. Also good in wet braking dist but sometimes oversteer in wet cornering , lost control 1 or 2 times lucky catch the road quickly . Wear is ok modarete and comfortable tires . Drive about 22k km.

The tyre handles well in wet conditions. Even slightly bigger puddles don't create problems. When I first time drove with these tyres on the motorway i was surprised how silent they were compared to my previous tires or my father's tyres. The tyres make ride quite comfortable even when running stiffer springs. They are very good tyres considering that they are 3rd cheapest tyre that the tyre store sold for my tyre size.

We used the previous generation of these tyres the H730 and unfortunately these are a great disappointment. My wife and I have both been sliding on greasy roads - in a 90bhp bmw!! - when the previous set didn't do this even when they were nearly done - so far this set has 4500miles. I honestly won't be buying the h740s again back to the h730s if I can get them.

Brilliant tyres on a 3 series bmw did 40000 miles before needing new set.

Overall a VERY good tyre. Amazing grip in the dry and outstanding in the wet, even with ALOT of water on the road.

Drove somewhere between 10 - 15000km with those, until the thread had gone down to under 3mm. At this point, the tyres were starting to get a bit exciting to drive with, in wet conditions. I could easily make them spin, and has a tendency to lock up the brakes. But the rest of the time, it was the most awesome tyre i've ever tried. Im a spirited driver.

Grip and last really well; much much better on both accounts than the Dunlop BluResponses I had before. Grip well in the wet and very progressive. Very good value, too, at £40 each! Very pleased and will buy again.

I had these tyres fitted this weekend, but my new Infinity tyres feel better than my old Uniroyals.
