Instead of Excellence should be re-named Mediocrity. Have them for two years on a Skoda Yeti 4X4 1.8 TSI. Medium (6/10) dry grip and dry braking, medium (5/10) wet grip, wet braking, road feedback and wear, less than medium (4/10) wet braking and good (7/10) comfort and progressiveness. I'll buy something else this fall (thinking first choice Pirelli Cinturato P7 or Dunlop SP Sport Fast Response or Nokian V, depending on price and availability).

Very good wet and dry grip levels. Feedback is also good. Fronts lasted around 18k and rears 27k and still good tread.....i should have rotated them though. Just ordered another set.

This set of tyres was value for money and prevented a few accidents on my way, it grips like hell and I will never fit any other tyre again.

Compared with the previous front Goodyear NCT5s which covered 31k miles on my Cmax, these tyres were very poor ; 18k miles and down to the legal limit. Have now fitted a pair Pirelli P7s and hope they will last a bit longer.

i dont trust goodyear service anymore i had a nail in my tire and they told me it was non reparable and i had to buy a new one, but i told them no, i went to another mechanic and they fixed my tire in 10 minutes. Goodyear is trying to rip people off. i dont recommend it to anyone.

Just about to replace two front 195/55 R16s and I will be buying another pair of Goodyear Excellence as the originals have covered 39,000 miles. Grip in dry and wet is excellent and road noise is good too.

I chose these tyres going by the reviews on the internet and in the motoring press. They were ok at first and the grip in the dry is comparable with other premium brands I have used. Wet grip while cornering is also pretty good. However when they started to wear they became very prone to aquaplaning, the groves seem to have narrowed as the tyre wore down. They have covered around 15K miles on the front now and still have 3mm left, however I would now class them as dangerous in standing water and so they are to be replaced with a new pair of Michelin Energy Savers this week. It had the same Michelins on before these Goodyears and they are superior. In the recent rain I have had the car aquaplane twice while going along at 50 in top gear, the wheel started to spin up despite not accelerating. The standing water was not all that deep and its not something I have experienced on the same road with the same weather conditions with other tyres. On top of that the N/S/F tyre has deformed, resulting in a odd sensation through the steering when turning a corner (not a balance problem). It has Goodyear Duragrips on the rear, they are better than the Excellence Goodyears and have worn very very well. I will not be buying Goodyear Excellence tyres again.

Have these as factory fit on my Ford Galaxy and have been very impressed. The fronts lasted just under 15k miles (about to change them tomorrow) and the rears still have another 15k left in them easily, which is not bad for a heavy car that spends half its life on winding country roads and town. Many years ago I had Goodyear NCT5 fitted to a Skoda and they were so appauling in the wet (white knuckle ride in the fast lane) it put me off Goodyear totally. The Excellence have converted me again, grippy in wet and dry (acceptable for a summer tyre in snow), quiet and comfortable and wear-rate within reason. Would recommend and generally good value for momey against them main competition.

Very pleased with these. Run them at around 38psi and fronts have done 20k with only small amount of wear and rears like new.

Not good in snow because of the low profile but that's normal but in the dry they are great. Wet is average and perfectly safe if you are sensible.

When new they are very quiet but noise has increased as they have got older but still not noisy.

I would buy these again.

The sidewalls seem to bliseter out if you touch a kerb or drive through a pothole (which is unavoidable on British roads these days). They seem to perform reasonably well in dry and wet, but becuase of the blisters I have to replace them to maintain the roadworthiness of my Megane. The comfort is sub standard - you really know what surface you're driving on.

ive had two sets of these tyres now and ive got to be honest and say these tyres are brilliant. they have great grip in both dry and wet and are excellent against aquaplaning. ive had many set of tyres over the years and these are one set i cant really fault. the ride is excellent, they are very quiet and very smooth. i would have liked a few more miles out of a set but thats only a minor niggle. i do a mixture of driving from motorways to country lanes and most of the time im quite a brisk driver and these tyres are very progressive near the limit. they have lots of grip and very quiet so suit sporty saloon cars perfectly. but if your after pure traction then go for the f1 assymetrics.
