Best Tyres for the Skoda Octavia

Good tyres, but Continetal winter contact 830P was much better in snow.

Great, but find them a bit noisy. Really confident when braking in wet or dry. Would definitely recommend.

This is my second review, 8,000 miles covered now with these all season budget tyres.
They're generally good within the dry, as are all budget tyres that I've ever used. They're a bit suspect during the warmer, wetter summer months. They've lost traction a couple of times on me now, during moderate cornering on damp roads, during the warmer summer months (25c plus).
So for this reason, I won't buy budget all season tyres again.
Mid range for me, after this set.

Have used the cross climate range of tyres for many years, across several family and work cars, the cross climate 2 have been excellent again. Excellent grip in the dry and wet. I don`t recall any stopping / aquaplaning issues. Not a good handling as a summer tyre. Very little use in snow, but performed great when needed.

Have just replaced two front tyres after 45,000 miles of use, with cross climate 3. I expect to get 50,000 miles from the CC2 rears. To be fair, they haven`t been driven particularly hard, and there was plenty of dual carriageway / motorway driving. Wear rate did seem to increase over the last few months of summer 2026, but not surprising given the temperatures we`ve had.

The Cross Climates may cost a few pounds more than some other all season tyres, but given the mileage they get, I think they are hard to beat for value.
I`m expecting good things from the CC3 tyres and would be very reluctant to use any other tyres now.

First impressions compared to my old Dunlop Sport BlueResponse set. Less sporty, Bit more noisier, but better in braking both dry/wet. Also better in heavy rain and aquaplaning.

Monster traction on snow. On icy roads i had the back of the car slide a few times at 50-60 kph uphill, mostly in curves. I now have a new set of Hankook icept rs3 wich is less noisy, slightly poorer snow traction, similar on ice. Since 2024 switched the Michelin set on a VW Passat and used them as allseason tires. Still haven't lost proprietes on snow/ice. DOT 2018

I used the tires on city commute in spring trough late autumn as well as long drives between countries in vacations for more than 7 years. Very quiet, nice braking response in dry, in wet I had to be a little more cautious with braking and aquaplaning. I got a new set this year.

These came freshly fitted to the car when purchased - I guess they were the cheapest tyres to get it mot'd. To summarise they were just OK in all respects, though ultimately lacking for any spirited driving - especially in the wet. Decent comfort. Biggest frustration for me was inadequate rim protection - the slightest curb encounter resulted in scuffed rims. Replaced with Goodyear Eagle F1s - no comparison really.

excellent tyre long lasting not a lot of difference from new to fairly worn from grip point of view but have been caught out once with these tyres aquaplaning
on very wet B road going fairly fast.my previs tyres where hankook which where good but went terrible when down to 3mm no such thing with good year
i have now had Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 on 2 cars and can highly recommend them also have had Asymmetric 3 and 5 but run car on
Continental AllSeasonContact 2 in winter also excellent but maybe change to Goodyear Vector All Season 4 for new car if it become available when i am ready for new boots.
