Michelin Pilot Sport 4 Owner Reviews
Review this tyreWhat owners say summarised from 306 reviews
Across 306 owner reviews averaging 78.9%, most drivers rate the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 for its standout grip: around half praise both wet and dry traction, often describing very high confidence and predictable handling. Comfort also lands well for many (around a third mention it positively), though opinions are more mixed on noise, steering feel and especially longevity. Tread life is the biggest point of disagreement (mentioned by 42% overall), with plenty reporting strong mileage while a similar number complain of faster wear; a smaller group also call out the sidewalls as too soft.

Dry grip seems to be very good, car feels planted when accelerating out of a corner I have plenty of confidence the car will dig in without the DSC kicking in. Wear is an unknown at the moment, will make another review in about 5k miles which will only be 2 months. As I spend 98% of my time on the motorway (living close to motorway) it will be very interesting to see wear rate.

WOW! I am stunned by how good these tyres are!
Response - The (now old) Pilot Super Sport always had a soft sideway feel in 18 inch which resulted in some sideways movement in the rear of the car. These MPS4's have no such movement. Turns in instantly, takes the line and maintains it without any corrective steering inputs. I've never felt so secure throwing the car through S bends.
Grip/traction - The traction is immence. By comparison, Goodyear Assym 2's and Conti 5P's would spin as I pulled away, then grip, then spin again as I hit peak power at 5000 rpm. This would happen in 1st and 2nd gear. On the same road and the same conditions, with warm MPSS I'd get little spin at pull away and no spin at peak power. MPSS traction went away when it was cold though. With the MPS4's I get perfect traction even at 5 degrees C on cold tyres! It only spins if it's damp and greasy. Wet traction is excellent. Car is RWD with 235kw and 450nm.
Noise - they're quiter than other tyres I've tried but about the same as MPSS, so not whisper quiet, but not irritating or intrusive.
Comfort - MPSS still better for absolute comfort as they seemed to adsorb all road imperfections. The MPS4 feel the same most of the time, but you feel slightly more bump when going over short, sharp road imperfections.
All in all, these are the tyre's I've been looking for since getting my car. Very satisfied. Thanks Michelin!

a lot more comfortable than previous tires, and i have tires pumped to 40 psi as the car recommends and the car doesnt feel like it has soft sidewalls any more.

Both summer tyres are supposed to be A rated for wet grip, but the Michelins are leagues ahead.
The Goodyears are supposed to be several db lower sound, but sound the same as the Michelins.
In short, Michelin appear to be under selling themselves and need a new rating of A+!
The wet grip is outstanding. Soaking motorways feel as if you're stuck to the road.
Dry grip is everything you could wish for. True, I only have a modest engine, but cornering is so much more confident. When pushing on large roundabouts the grip is entirely predictable, safe and encouraging.
It's too soon to talk about wear, but it's a Michelin so I'm expecting it to be good!

Cofort and nois at great level.
Cornering fast but maybe not as fast as p zeros but again comfort and overall handling much better.
Go for MPS4 and you wont regret.
