Pirelli CINTURATO P7 Owner Reviews

Review this tyre

What owners say summarised from 156 reviews

Owners most consistently praise the Pirelli CINTURATO P7 for its strong dry grip and secure, predictable road manners, with many also finding it generally comfortable for everyday and motorway use. Wet grip and road noise are far more divisive, with feedback split between “excellent” and distinctly underwhelming, especially in colder, wetter conditions. Longevity is the biggest talking point: almost half of reviewers mention tread life and opinion is evenly split, with many reporting quicker-than-expected wear. A smaller but notable minority (around one in eight) also complain about weak-feeling sidewalls and muted steering feedback, and around one in ten report puncture or sidewall-damage issues.

Have done 17,500km/11,000 miles on these fitted to a Golf GTD, rotated at 15,000km/9,300miles still less than half worn. Very quiet and comfortable compared to previous Bridgestone ER-300. Handle very well in dry and good in occasional wet (Brisbane,Australia). Good road feel all the way to 220kph/135mph, giving warning well before limit in dry. Recently did interstate run of 2,100km/1,300miles in 2 days in wet, no dramas. Definitely will look for these again when required.

When the temperature falls under 25 degrees Celsius, the grip disappears.

Bought these part worn at 6mm and they have lasted 15k. Dry grip excellent wet grip decent and they were a fair price too at £40 fitted albeit part worn.

These tyres came fitted on the car from new. The original front tyres were replaced at 42k, which is incredible for a 170bhp front wheel drive car, with another pair of P7 Cinturato's. The original rear tyres still going strong at 50k with still 5mm of tread left. Would not hesitate in buying these tyres again.

Impressed, these tyres suit the car very well realy sharpening up the steering and feedback. The grip is excellent in the dry and wet never being overstretched for a car of this size and power, but can have fun with predictible movement in the wet. They do produce a little more noise that I would like on motorways and wear on the front is highish given the car's weight and power, but you can't have everything!
Have had Sportcontact 3's, Bridgestone and Michelins, these are far better, not ultimate grip - but expremly well balanced that makes driving fun and safe.

Bought a full set of 4 to replace the awful Bridgestone RE040 runflats on my 1 series even though they only had 2500 miles on them! BMW recommended them as an alternative tyre and I opted to go non-runflat and haven't looked back. Early days with just a few K on them but so far they seem grippier than the Bridgestones, better in the wet and so much more comfortable and quieter. Fuel consumption has also improved too. They aren't the sportiest tyres in the world but for real world driving they seem very good and more than up the the job of the occasional sporty drive. Don't confuse these tyres with the older P7, these are great tyres and I would recommend. I'll come back again and see if I this still stands as I come to the end of the life of the tyres.

I got P7C with my new VW Passat Variant 1.8t in April. First impression was really not good. It was just average with one exception - no comfort. I was even upset.

However later on I realized one thing - tyres start to operate perfectly if outside temperature is more than +16C!

To put it simple good SUMMER tyre.

First of all My tires was runflat. I cannot recommend this tires to BMW owners anymore. My BMW came with bridgestone RE050A runflat they were extremely stiff.Their turn in (quick lane change) was excellent but ride comfort was so bad. These Pirelli runflats more softer so it gives more comfort, they are not sporty as bridgestones but still good.

Also they are soo quiet.

If you want a comfortable runflat definetely buy Cinturato P7 runflats.

Had these tyres as standard fit from new and checked the pressures every 2 weeks and the front tyres are showing uneven wear on the front tyres which appeared to be down to overinflation.

Tyres provide decent grip and provide a quiet ride but be aware that they wear very quickly and it looks like I will need new front tyres by 10k whilst the rear tyres still have 7mm of tread on them.
