BMW 320D Tyre Review Highlights

Driving on mostly country roads for 3000 average miles
First and foremost if you buy these they can take an age to scrub in. Longer in the wet but quicker in the dry. Mine took 200 miles before grip improved. A previous reviewer commenter on grip failing in certain areas and that’s correct. Lateral grip is not their strong suit. In the wet, even accidental excitement in a corner can send you off track a little. Easy to correct with safety features such as traction control activated. It’s a progressive tyre otherwise with good feedback. You can tell when they are losing grip. The noise is above average but thankfully vibration is not too bad. Dry grip impressive. Not immune to aqua planing by any means but pretty good if driving steady. In conclusion, a good all round tyre, fails in some areas, excels in others, and not a sporty performance tyre by any stretch of the imagination. Probably won’t outdo a dedicated winter tyre but for occasional snow/ice/mud it is more than fine.

BMW 320d GT. changed to these on the two rear tyres, just before a road trip from Ireland to Berlin. Oh dear, these are clearly not suited. The car is twitchy and swimmy at anything over 100kmh. Have to keep two hands on the wheel and concentrate to keep it going in a straight line. It’s almost divergent. Really unnerving. At Autobahn speeds of over 160kmh it’s a real white knuckle ride. Other peeps are clearly having a different and good experience with these but I can say unequivocally that they are not to be used on a 320d GT.

Driving on a combination of roads for 1000 spirited miles
After putting these summer tyres back after the winter, I very quickly noticed a vibrating effect. At this point the tyres are only about 1000 km used. The vibration is caused by the tyres, which are not round. The tyres were clearly wobbling in the balancing machine, and causing the vibration to the car. A lot of people have had the same problem with this tyre, and therefore I advise to stay away from them. If lucky, you could end with somewhat decent tyres for the money, but I feel like it's not worth the lottery (and hassle). I'll get rid of these horrible tyres and get some better ones.

Driving on mostly town for 10000 spirited miles
Great tyre for the price. All I can say it’s good. I bought the car with this tyre on. So the tyre had a few months left... but I enjoyed every bit of it... Not best in grip and thats why the wear is so good, but a perfect fit for a average driver or even for a person who likes oversteer now and then... But its a good tyre

A great tyre for a average driver. Not the tyre for a person looking for max grip or max wear. Its soft but it doesn’t provide as much grip... rather go for the RE003 RFT But overall a great tyre Bridgestone’s Run Flats are the best it’s true. Quite pricey for a average tyre.

Driving on mostly town for 6000 spirited miles
Great tyre for the price. I wanted a cheap tyre for the rear and that’s what I got. Obviously for oversteer, please don’t put them at the front if you are track day driver I enjoy playing around, so I used it to drift, slip and slide... and am so pleased with the way it handled. If I get a set of run flats, I would definitely buy again. Many complained about wet weather control and aquaplaning but it’s great for a everyday driver. Once you put the tyre to the test in wet weather, you’ll experience aquaplaning and little traction.. I say again, Great tyre for the price for summer.

I bought a set of these as a test after going through a set of other Chinese tyres super quick. At the same time as getting them fitted, I got a four wheel alignment done. These tyres have lasted a significant amount longer than the other set of tyres I had, and I would say I hoon them on a daily basis. For the price I can't complain and I often find during cornering they are very predictable and grippy in the dry. In the wet however, they do grip okay, but once they break in a corner, the car will slide very did suddenly. My BMW 320d isn't a 5000 horsepower machine but it's not a 1.0 yarris, and being rwd I do enjoy a cheeky bit of sideways fun. These tyres are decent and I'm about to buy them again. Mine are below the wear indicators but still grip great in the dry but would probably suck in heavy rain. 32psi front 45psi back 225/45/17
