Given 100% while driving a Volkswagen Golf GTI (225/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 19,500 spirited miles
Tires lasted 3years (7 months/year) and 19500 miles before replacement.
Great grip,wet or dry, felt like on rails on tight bends, ride is quite comfortable, great road feedback (I own the XL version)... what can I say,
had PZero's and EagleF1 Assy's before and this beats them on every aspect.

Made only in the Netherlands, this is a top quality product.
Will buy again.

Given 100% while driving a Volkswagen Golf GTI (225/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 12,500 spirited miles
Lasted 3years (8mounths/year) and 12500 miles of spirited driving.
Rotation was performed in the beginning of each summer.
I had the XL version = stiffer sidewalls.

Compared to the other tires owned/tested:
(PZeros,Eagle F1 assy,T1r and SP Maxx)

- dry grip on straight's: 100%
- dry grip on bends : 95% (t1r was a little better)
- dry braking: 100%

- wet grip on straight's: 100%
- wet grip on bends: 100% (on the same spot as eagleF1)
- wet braking: 90% (under F1assy and over the rest)

I don't care about wear or noise to much, performance being the priority, but are wearing great for a performance tire and the noise is good too.


If they will keep making them in Holland, definitely buy again. I am sick of all major companies manufacturing in china but still requesting A LOT of money for their products...

Given 81% while driving a Jaguar XF (255/35 R20) on mostly motorways for 15,000 spirited miles
I have had these on my XF for almost a year now, I can honestly say they are even better than the Oem Dunlop sport maxx that were fitted to my car from new. The only complaint I can say about these tyres are they are shocking in poor snowy / icy weather. Although they are classed as a summer tyre. The dunlops were a million times better in snow, you can hardly drive in bad weather, almost zero traction. Still wouldnt stop me buying them again though, the tread pattern is cool looking.

Given 100% while driving a Nissan 350Z (245/45 R18) on a combination of roads for 3,000 average miles
After owning my 350Z for five years, I fancied trying a different tyre to the usual Bridgestone Potenza 050A's.

Wish I had done this ages ago !

They perform better, cost less, LOOK better (check-out that cool Guigiaro designed tread pattern) and are quieter (less road noise).

Delighted with them and great value for money, too. Will not hesitate to fit them again.

Excellent tyre. They out perform some of the well known brands by leaps and bounds. Wet grip is unreal. Road noise is better than most and I'm running 20"s. I found the wear on these tyres to be excellent. 20k miles down they still look like I bought them yesterday. I will be buying these tyres again.

bought these for my A5 as previously had yokohamas on my bmw coupe, good experience all round love the grip in the dry can really throw it at corners and it goes as if on rails, coming to the end of their life now still gripping well but after 35000 miles im more than happy to buy another set....

Given 49% while driving a Lexus IS250SE (255/40 R18 W) on mostly town for 4,350 average miles
I have chosen those tyres after reading some good reviews less than a year ago.
On dry road they were OK a bit worse than I expected but no major complains. The problems start to appear when it rains (95% of time here in Ireland). The grip on wet could be worse only on ice. Absolutely terrible. The only worst tyres I saw were some cheap Chinese but nothing manufactured in this side of the world performed worse in wet conditions. My biggest surprise was when I took may cat for NCT test (MOT equivalent). After driving less than 5k miles during less than a year the rear tyres were GONE. Below legal limit. Lexus IS250 is not the most powerful car and I am not a boy racer burning rubber on every light. Such amount of wear is unacceptable. Keep clear from those.

Given 71% while driving a BMW 320D M Sport (255/35 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 8,000 average miles
All four tyres fitted in April 2012, usual BMW staggered setup 225/40 (front) and 255/35 (rear). I change to a winter setup in late November so cannot comment on snow & cold weather performance.

I really wanted to replace the nasty OEM runflats with the Goodyear F1A2 but these were like hens teeth back in April. Indeed all the premium brands seemed to be in short supply in the required sizes so I had dip into the mid range.

Anyway, a few of my thoughts on this tyre:

Dry - adequate grip and braking performance, probably far more than you'll ever need on the public roads unless you drive like a complete loon.

Wet - good wet grip, wet braking doesn't feel particularly spectacular. When it's really wet they deliver very strong aquaplaning performance and do give you a lot of confidence when the heavens open.

Handling - nice stiff sidewalls so good steering response, feedback is ok.

Others - very quiet although noise levels increased after around 5k. Reasonable ride comfort & wear for a high performance summer tyre.

Overall it's pretty much what you'd expect from a mid range tyre, it performs adequately in most areas while being strong in a couple (aquaplaning & noise). This model has been around for a few years now and is perhaps starting to show it's age so if you're expecting it match the all round capabilities of the latest offerings from Goodyear, Continental etc then you're likely to be underwhelmed.

Having said that it's still a solid mid range choice and good value for money if you shop around.

Given 96% while driving a Volkswagen Golf 1.9 Tdi (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 15,000 spirited miles
Ran these for around 15k. Unfortunately had a puncture in one (and it didn't blow out after 10 miles).

These have been amazing tyres, better than any of the Michelins/Continentals I've tried before. I've had Primacy HP and Continental Sport Contact 2s and this blows them out of the water.
Dry grip is mind blowing, although they do screech on the limit which can make you look a bit of a numpty but oh well.

In the wet I've never had any sort of aqua planing, and you can corner hard without much perceivable loss of grip. They also kick up a whole load of water which shows how much they clear in terms of standing water.

I got around 12k on them, a mix of motorway and fast & hard b-road abuse, this includes a day of drag racing as well, at 12k they were down to around 4mm so I put them on the back.. Could get around 22-24k from them, the diesel engine in my car adds weight and load to the front end and with 280lb ft of torque it certainly puts them through their paces.

I'm unsure of what I will be replacing them with in the future, as to whether I will get a new set of these or get some Eagle F1 Assymeterics 2 (which are actually cheaper than the Sessanta's. They are £93 vs £98 for the Sessanta.

The only negative thing I found with these tyres was that, just around dead centre there was a lack of initial response from the car which was not present on other tyres. However they offer great feedback through the wheel and you can really feel what the car is doing. Oversteer is easily controlled and progressive.

I give these 9.5/10.

Given 88% while driving a BMW 5 Series M Sport ( E60 ) (245/40 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 3,000 average miles
bought my 520d m sport and in adverse weather found the traction control being activated often, put this down to the accelera tyres fitted all round! after much research and deliberating I decided upon the sessantas as replacements at a cost of £600 fully fitted, these have transformes the car, feedback, road noise, dry and wet grip and handling are now confidence inspiring, and the flash of the traction control being activated has not appeared once even in spipited driving. glad to have chosen these tyres partly thanks to the comments on this very informative site.

Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's Excellent tyre Highly recommend gives total confidence in wet & dry, Had the XL (extra load) version so sidewalls are probably firmer than standard & they transmit absolutely every feel from the road to steering you can feel every detail of the road in your hands! but they will equally transmit every bump to your seat but to be fair I do have very hard springs,bushes & shock set up, very good under hard cornering very very little side roll/sway far better than previous tyres like the the Eagle F1 GSD3'S in every respect especially the wet & the Michelin Pilot sport's that give a more comfortable ride but are not as focused as the sassanta's when you push hard the pilot sports can wallow a bit, wife drives this car now & sessanta's needed replacing so for a softer ride have just put a set of Barum Bravuris 2's on £400 full set fitted great value budget tyre so far good for comfort reasonable wet grip & quite pleased with them but this has also dulled the steering feedback & given a bit more roll in hard cornering obviously not as focused & grippy as sessanta's but this was a choice intended for economy,safety with bump absorbing comfort & more work horse like daily mileage which they have done well for the last 3,000 miles miles.
