Best Tyres for the Nissan Patrol

These were on sale at the time I was shopping and so I thought, since I only ever saw positive reviews about them on social media, I decided to purchase a set of these. So far after 10 months I can safely say they perform just as good as the Toyo Open Country MTs on both sand and rock and can confidently see these lasting four or five years even with heavy offroad use. They seem to do just fine in wet road conditions especially being a mud tyre and while they're a bit noisy on the highway but to be fair, so is every single other mud tyre out there so that was expected anyway. I am yet to test these in mud but I'm confident they will not disappoint.

Drove the car for 18 months only and 40,000 km , i started to feel car is losing grip and my tires are not driving well any more, when i check my tyres i found out that rear tyres are gone & the tread worn out knowing car is only used for city driving,

Done 30k on them and just roadworthy. Rotated every 5k aligned every 10k. Tyrw rep said because driving a Y62 Patrol will not help our with other tyres. ABSOLUTE RUBBISH. ATTITUDE SUCKS TOO. Cost so much and everyone I have spoken to said wearing way too early. DON'T BUY THESE TYRES

They are great for off road driving, we drive in an area where there is a lot of stones and they don't get cut! Amazing tyre!

Put these on GU patrol wagon and was happy with onroad wet and dry grip and noise. Offroad they performed as well as an all terrain should. I was happy with the rate of wear but very dissapointed with the durability of the sidewalls. After 1st sustaining sidewall damage i replaced with another toyo as the others were still at 80%. Ave since done another 2 sidewalls in fairly mundane conditions. Won't go toyos again.

Toooo much noise and the seller says if there’s noise before 50k return it and he never answer me

I've been driving 4x4's now for over 25 years (about 2 million K's) and usually ONLY use BFG's as here in OZ,
If your Tyre fails you, you may die out there...

I had these on my FULLY MODIFIED GQ Nissan Patrol LWB 4.2 turbo D Man.
This was a brilliantly set up 4x4. So much so it was on the cover and the main story in 4Wheel Drive Action Magazine here in Australia.
I put my life in the capability of the BFG's on many occasions without a second thought as these things are just so dependable.
For a "MUD" tyre on the road the dry grip is fine but let that surface get wet at all and you now have a challenge to keep your correct line into or out of any corner and your breaking distance needs to at least double.
Off road... NOTHING comes close to these almost bullet proof boots however wet rock walls are a challenge.

I got about 90,000Klm out of one set and did 50,000klm on the second set at a bit over half worn before selling the truck to a Darwin resident.
Some of these miles were around town, open country dirt/rocky tracks and many 4 wheel drive parks just to challenge her.
The biggest issue with these BFG's is you need a good tyre guy that knows how to balance them up and rotate and wheel align often.

Would I buy these again. ABSOLUTELY! nothing on the market still today comes close.

I have been driving modified 4x4's for many years and always have used BFGs' (MT or KM2)
I was talked into these tyres by mates that I thought had an idea what a tyre should be able to do.
After the first 5000klm I took them off and threw them away.
They dont grip on either wet or dry bitumen.
They dont grip in the mud and are less than helpful on wet rocks
Goodyear you are a joke!
Apart from the complete lack of grip I got more flat tyres in this 5000klm than the other 2million klms I've traveled on BFG's

If you buy these tyres after this information you my friend are crazy.

Disappointed. Rear Vigorous MT tyre delaminated and blew out after about 18 months and about 20,000km. That makes a cheap tyre more expensive than a reputable brand expensive tyre which come with warranty.

I replaced 4 Bridgestone Dulers with 4 Falken wildpeak tyres on my Nissan Patrol in April 2014. The first thing I noticed was how quiet they are both on motorway and the rural back roads of Devon, UK. These tyres create very little road noise, are comfortable and provide good traction in wet and off road. They are reasonably priced, cheaper than the more established brands. They also look good. I am very pleased with these tyres and would recommend them.
