Last year I bought the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 225/45/17 for my Golf Mk7 and I gotta say they're performing exceptional for the price. I'm very sattisfied.
For sporty driving in the mountains and some laps on the track, which is better the Yokohama V107 or the Goodyear F1 SuperSport? ( 225/40 R18 92Y) Thank you!
I'm always suurprised how different the test results are from another. The Kumho PS71 really shined here with a very good result, but it disappointed in the ADAC test: https://www.tyrereviews.com/Tyre-Tests/2025-ADAC-Summer-Tyre-Test.htm
The Yokohama Advan V107 was quite good in the ADAC test (ranked 6th of 18 tyres), but failed here in the Auto Bild test, ranking only 19th of 21 tyres.
Same for the Pirelli PZ4 which was very good in the new AutoBild Sport cars test: https://www.tyrereviews.com/Tyre-Tests/2025-Sports-Cars-Tyre-Test.htm but completely failed during the SportAuto test: https://www.tyrereviews.com/Tyre-Tests/2025-Sport-Auto-UUHP-Tyre-Test.htm
So this doesn't really help with the selection of new tires. I always wonder about the reasons for these really dramaticly different test results? Is it the car they used? Do the tyres have different tyre compounds or treads when used in different sizes? This really makes me think how these tyres would perform on my own car. Do they shine or do they fail? Seems to be like an easteregg...
The PZ4 in Sport Auto and Autobild were both OE specs. BMW and Audi if I recall. That's the reason for that tyre.
Kumho seem to be a bit hit and miss depending on sizes and whether the tyres are delivered for the test or bought on the market.
Looking at the data we have from the ADAC test it does not seem like the 6th place was justified, but they do a lot of other tests we don't get the data from.
Kumho could be an interesting alternative to the bigger brands, but the noise is horrible. Hovewer they've just launched the next gen I believe.
I'm disappointed with a poor results of Vredestein and Nokian. I'm almost 100% sure that my next set of tyres will be Hankook, but it depends on availability, I need 245/35/20, now Hankook doesn't have it??♂️
