Fitment comes from each tyre's manufactured size list, and the sizes are the ones drivers reported when they reviewed. Check the size, load index and speed rating on your own doorplate before buying - a size a previous owner ran is not always the size your car left the factory on.

Bridgestone Adrenalin RE003 235-50-18- Mazda 8 (MPV) 2.3 30,000 miles September 19, 2020
They're great on dry and wet condition. Never overcame the grip of the tyre from a family mpv. You could really transform the handling of a car with a sticky tyre. The wet grip and aquaplaning is quite impressive. The grove might seem a little aggressive for a family mpv, but they're quite comfortable albeit a little noisy. They don't last long, only got 30,000km out of the front tyres, but they've got a balance of performance and comfort unlike cheaper brand where they might have the grip, but not the comfort.

Hankook Ventus S1 Noble2 235-50-18- Mazda 8 (MPV) 2.3 35,000 miles September 19, 2020
The dry grip seems to be ok, they're not Bridgestone Adrenalin Re003 or Michelin PS4 sticky, but they're more than enough for a family mpv (I did use Potenza RE003 and PS4 on a family mpv), but they will aquaplane dangerously on road with poor drainage and puddle. Aquaplaning at 100km/h on a highway isn't fun and scary, but these tyres will aquaplane easily at more 80km/h and would actually lift both front tyres without any grip whatsoever. Aquaplane once at an 80km/h bend and needed to counter steer the oversteer moment in a FWD family mpv, which is not usual with my other set of tyres (Bridgestone, Michelin, Yokohama). Dry grip is not bad, they're better than the Yokohama that was an OEM tyre from the factory, could lean on it and progressively understeer with enough warning so you could control the understeer. They're noisy after 20,000km, but they will last a long time. If I'm not mistaken they're in the 500 treadwear, but replaced them at 35,000 because I got a puncture and sidewall was destroyed because of that.

Yokohama Aspec A349 BluEarth 215-65-16-H Mazda 8 (MPV) 2.3 28,000 miles November 3, 2017
Fitted by the factory on our 2014 Mazda 8 2.3. Had to replace after 45000km due to low profile (about 2.5mm left all around).
Quiet, comfortable tyre with a good wear for our heavy MPV. Good handling in the dry, but poor performance in the wet. I never experienced aquaplaning, but starting on a red light or uphill on wet roads set the tyres spinning easily. Also breaking at low speeds in parking decks or cornering over a manhole sent the car slipping easily.

Where this data comes from

Every rating on this page was submitted by a driver through the review form on this site, naming the car, the tyre, the size and the distance covered. Reviews are checked by hand before publication, and the page rebuilds automatically as new ones arrive.

About the TR Score

The Tyre Reviews Score rates each tyre out of 10 using independent test results and the full body of owner reviews, so you can check a car-specific ranking against the wider evidence.

Who does the testing

Every test published as a Tyre Reviews test is run by Jonathan Benson, who has been testing tyres independently since 2007.
