Michelin Pilot Power 2CT Reviews - Page 2

Given 86% while driving a BMW Ducati 750SS IE (225/45 R17) on mostly country roads for 2,000 spirited miles
Originally running some dreadful Dunlops on my Ducati fitted by p/o, and after a few moments on Dunlops (frankly the most dreadful tyres I have ever used, on car and 2 bikes) it get to a point where I refused to even ride the bike with Dunlops, which left me deciding what tyres, BT023 but I couldn't get any so fitted the PP2CT, the difference is night and day.

Bad points
Progessivenees- they are either on or off, there is no middle ground
Cold- they are ok, and heat up quick enough
Cold with damp conditions- take longer to heat up but they are ok, I wouldn't commute on them through town as the tyre just will not get warm enough to be of benefit to you.

Good points
When they are on they grip and grip and grip
Drop in is instant
Good amount of confidence from them in the corners, you start to go wrong on a corner, and the tyres really let you shift the bike around.
Rain riding is good, channels which go to edge of the tyre
Retain heat when stopped
Lean angles are awesome

Really good performance summer tyre, not brilliant for commuting as it does need to get hot, really soft compound even when cold you can squish the rubber with your finger.

Given 70% while driving a Honda Honda CB600F Hornet (180/55 R17 R) on a combination of roads for 13,100 spirited miles
I've had the Hornet since June last year, the standard tyres for it are bridgestones apparently, but mine was fitted with 2CTs when I picked her up. Not used any other tyre, but riding in the wet feels little different from the dry when commuting.

On track they stood up to a fair amount of abuse.

On the 1st set I got about 7k miles out of them (I was a new rider at the time) the 2nd and 3rd sets both got punctures within 600 miles or so :(

I'm thinking of trying the Avon Viper Extremes next to see how they compare.

Given 69% while driving a Suzuki GSXR 1000 K5 (180/55 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 12 spirited miles
I've used the Pilot Power 2CT's on the road and on the track.
Moving from the BT014's to these transformed the handling of my 600 by giving me so much more confidence in the front end. Fast direction changes were handled with ease and they made you feel like you could really crank the bike over and still have plenty of grip left over.
On track is a different story, although all of the above still applies its the progressiveness that lets them down, you really will not know when your nearing the tyres limit until it's too late and the back end wants to play a different game.

Tyre wear, i would get about 4000 miles out of a rear and double that on the front.

Using them in the wet never gave me any issues on the road or on track, but then i didn't push them too hard
