Performance Analysis
Drawn from 8 tests. Updated October 29, 2026.
The Nexen N8000 has repeated aquaplaning and noise strengths, but wear and rolling resistance weigh on an otherwise variable eight-test record. It was 11th of 15 in the 2012 Auto Bild Max Performance Tyre Test, with top aquaplaning marks and low noise but poor wear and high rolling resistance. ADAC placed it 14th of 15 in its 2012 European Summer Tyre Test and 17th of 19 in the 2013 European Summer Sports Tyre Test, praising wet performance but criticising wear.
The unusually strong result was third of eight in the 2013 Auto Bild Performance Summer Tyre Test, in 225/35 R18, with balanced grip, short braking distances, comfort and low noise. That contrasts with last of ten and clearly slow wet performance in EVO’s 2012 Summer Tyre Test, in 225/45 R17. Dry braking also reversed: Auto Zeitung found the longest stops in its 2011 Max Performance test, where it placed 13th of 14, unlike Auto Bild’s short-stop praise in 2013. Rolling resistance remained only average even in the stronger test, while several others criticised it. No award is recorded. The recurring aquaplaning strength is better established than uniformly strong braking or wet grip, and multiple tests raise concerns about service life.
