The Viking Fourtech Plus has a recurring dry-braking weakness, while curved aquaplaning is usually more competitive. Dry braking was last of 17 in the 2024 Auto Bild full test, 23.5% longer than the best, and last of 12 in the 2025 Sportscars test, 32.9% longer. ADAC in 2025 also criticised dry steering precision and ranked dry braking 13th of 16. In contrast, curved aquaplaning was third of 17 in the 2024 Auto Bild test and shared the best result in the 2025 ADAC test. Predicted mileage was below most rivals in both, at 13th of 15 and 13th of 16 respectively.

Some differences are unusual. The 2025 Sportscars wet braking result, 11th of 12, contrasts with fourth of 13 at Auto Bild Allrad that year and fifth of 37 in the 2024 Auto Bild braking overview. Curved aquaplaning was also weaker at Sportscars, ninth of 11. Allrad praised snow traction in 2025, with fifth of 13, whereas ADAC placed traction 13th of 16; snow handling is generally less competitive. Dry handling is mixed too: Auto Bild praised safe behaviour in 2024, but Allrad found spongy responses in 2025. Fuel consumption led the 2024 Auto Bild full test, although rolling resistance was only ninth of 17. ADAC rated overall performance satisfactory, with no driving safety category above satisfactory.

This Continental second brand demonstrates solid winter capabilities with reassuring traction and stable handling on snow-covered surfaces. Wet performance is notably competent, providing predictable behavior and reasonable braking distances. The tyre offers acceptable ride comfort for everyday use. However, significant weaknesses appear on dry roads, where extended braking distances and somewhat vague handling lead to its overall downgrade. The tyre feels less precise and communicative on dry pavement compared to competitors, requiring drivers to adjust their expectations. For budget-conscious drivers in regions with mild winters and frequent rain who rarely push hard on dry roads, the Viking offers acceptable performance, though the slightly higher-priced Ceat provides better overall balance.

The Viking FourTech Plus does not exceed a "satisfactory" rating in any driving safety category (dry, wet, or winter). Although it scores a "good" rating for its environmental performance, its overall grade is only satisfactory. The tyre's weakest area is on dry roads, where steering feedback and precision are lacking, requiring the driver to make corrections to hold a line. Its dry braking distance is also below average. On wet roads, it narrowly misses a good rating; while braking is good, its performance in aquaplaning and handling is only satisfactory due to a tendency to understeer or oversteer. In winter conditions, the results are also merely satisfactory across the board in traction, braking on snow and ice, and handling, with a lack of precision at the limit. On a positive note, the tyre's environmental performance is good, thanks to high marks for projected mileage, low wear, low weight, and very low fuel consumption.
