The Tyre Reviews Score is the most comprehensive tyre scoring system available. It aggregates professional test data from multiple independent publications, user reviews, and consistency analysis using Bayesian statistical methods, weighted normalisation, and recency-adjusted scoring to produce a single, reliable performance rating.

Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tyre tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Top 3 Z Max Zealion Reviews

Given 15% while driving a Volkswagen Caddy (205/60 R16) on mostly town for 3,000 average miles
I would class these tyres as downright dangerous! When first fitted I felt as if the car was floating or drifting on the road, not a comfortable feeling. They don't stop in wet weather and aren't much better in dry weather. Removing after 3000km. Advise to spent the extra £10-20 per wheel to get something decent.

Given 72% while driving a Honda pilot (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 621 average miles
I bought these tires 245 / 50 R20 for my 2021 Honda Pilot Black Edition - quite frankly because they were the least expensive tires on the market. It's been a week today since install, I've already put over 1000Kms highway on the them with some inner city driving as well. So far, I'm impressed with them, the ride is generally the same as the stock touring tires I replaced. With the exception of a little tiny bit bumpier of a ride, Barely noticeable. The cornering performance is great, dry weather is fantastic, they handle the rain like any other much more expensive tire and they were cheap! cost break down for 4 new Zmax Zealion tires for my Honda Pilot with install was $680 Canadian all in. I 100% could have purchased two sets of these tires for the cost of one set of any other brand on the market. As I am in a northern climate I will not be driving with these on in the winter. I've already purchased a set of 4 ZETA ANTARTICA 6 tires and rims to swap out in the fall. (which are another good set of tires by ZETA).

Given 43% while driving a Toyota Yaris Cross (215/50 R18) on mostly town for 0 easy going miles
Got these fitted to a used car I bought and even thought they were less than 3 months old from their production date, the tyres are uncomfortable over bumps unless you were down to 28psi.

The worst thing is that they sound like an all terrain tyre at anything over 60kmh. The harmonics is just terrible and makes it sound like you have a bad wheel bearing (which I don’t)

Avoid at all cost and wasting not only your money but the resources to make this half baked “tyre”.

Given 79% while driving a Volvo XC60 D5 AWD Auto (255/45 R20) on mostly country roads for 9,000 average miles
For the price point I think they are a great tyre and I’m an average driver so don’t push them to hard they have done everything I’ve asked of them dry wet mud, if your on a budget or not I don’t see anything but plus points so far ,currently on 5mm after 9 k miles fitted on a Volvo XC60.

Given 56% while driving a BMW 3 series (225/40 R19) on a combination of roads for 1,500 average miles
I have driven about 1500 km on these zmax zealion tires I got for free from my dealership. They're ok tires, doesn't excel at anything but I wouldn't buy them if I had the choice. Will likely replace them in a few seasons.
