I would call the Yokohama Advan Apex V601 a good teacher that helps you get better at driving and a very talkative tyre, it has a very narrow optimal window not sure if it has a very small slip angle or what, it squeals early but not necessarily lost grip yet on the same corners with MaxContact 7 it feels like it takes less longitudinal G, Advan Apex V601 is sensitive to inputs, any bad input there will be feedback and it will understeer for me, i would say i feel MaxContact 7 is a much grippier tyre even when driving inputs are bad, imagine after improving your technique
noise level when new is equivalent to a worn out 1.7mm MaxContact 7
my apex v601 is 6000km in im down to 6.3-6.9mm of tread depth, did a 2 hour track day as well, it kind of help up, a lot of squeal thats for sure, but the feedback is great you can really feel when its almost loosing traction when its sliding, and if its really goin sideways, wear wise its quite ok for my slow pacing on the track, the flakes you see are rubber picked up on track, drive hard enough it will all fall away back to smooth tyre
i still dont know what mindset should i have right now, is having a narrow optimal grip window a good thing or a bad thing for a tyre, would i buy again? im really in a mixed feeling zone, MC7 is a top choice, more forgiving, more grip but not as direct, feedback is not much, i dont know where the limits of the MC7 is but V601 i can easily know how much i can push it, when to pull back, when to correct my steering

Good points:
As far as grip on dry asphalt is concerned, this tire behaves quite well. The driving feeling is good. When driving more sharply in corners, it tends to twist, but nothing dramatic. The final impression is that they hold very well in curves. Braking on dry surfaces is also excellent.
Handling on wet asphalt is outstanding. Braking is excellent. The cornering behavior during sharper driving is excellent, it gives the impression of a reliable tire. The combination of low temperatures and wet asphalt leaves an even better impression...
A few days ago I also had snowy conditions, with a lot of deep snow and slush, the tire behaves predictably and reliably and I could say with excellent grip when moving through the snow continuously.
On good road surfaces they are really quiet.
Cons:
At speeds higher than 120 km/h, vibrations are felt in the car, but it is not terrible.
When driving more sharply in curves, they tend to twist, but they hold excellently in both dry and wet conditions.
Aquaplaning is quite pronounced above 70 km/h. If I remember correctly, with the old Falken Eurowinter HS01 in a similar dimension, that was the feeling at higher speeds.
Comfort and subjective driving feeling could be a little better.
The rolling resistance is a little higher, but it's still a winter tire, so it's not a drawback.
I cannot evaluate the behavior on ice, since I have not tested it under those conditions.
Conclusion:
Absolute recommendation for this tire. It behaves well in almost all conditions (no ice), predictably and reliably.
I just hope that it will be able to cover a lot of kilometers without reducing its performance.

Price wise in Malaysia at least is cheaper than PS5 but based on this review here seems like it performs better than Michelin Pilot Sport 5 so id say its quite value for money but reviews of this tyre is quite limited, small sample size, hard to have a definite conclusion
How well it handles heat and repeated aggressive use?
i have a photo down that is after an advance driving course, you can see some signs of heat cycling with flaking and small chips, this is only on the front 2 tyres, have not tracked this tyre thou, could eat up this tyre pretty quick
Very confident inspiring tyre, quiet in the initial stages but the noise starts to come in after 10,000km ish, on good tarmac its still quiet, its the rough ones that is amplified, i drive somewhat spiritedly in mountain passes or twisties 1-2 times per week and only had once or twice where i really hear some tyre squeals, i would say i have not driven this tyre to it's limit yet so i cant comment much on this but 100-120km/h in the corners are quite safe and confident, have not had any slides in the wet at all as well
Wear wise i think it wears quite fast but kind of expected for tyres of this focus and also more aggressive than normal city driving use case
