255-35-19 Audi a5 3.0 tdi quattro sport 15,000 miles June 6, 2025
I have waited until a new set of tyres were fitted to my car before I wrote this review (Pilot Sport 5's) This gives me 15,000 miles + of experience with these tyres which were fitted when I bought the car.
Good points:
The wear of these tyres is actually decent, my car is heavy and powerful, I drive 50+ miles a day on a range of roads, country, town, A-roads etc, and the wear has been brilliant, albeit un-even. The sides wear very quickly with the centre 1/3 of tyre being more or less untouched. I could have got another 5,000 - 10,000 miles out of these tyres had I liked them.
That's where the good points end.
The dry grip is bang average, you'll begin to notice just how much grip these tyres lack once you are put on a more demanding, twisty roads. These tyres caused some serious understeer, and struggled to get around roundabouts without losing traction. You will find the limit of these tyres very quickly even if you aren't a spirited driver. Ditch finders.
The grip falls of a cliff in the wet, these seem to shed no water at all. I have nearly aquaplaned several times in minimal standing water. Seriously shoddy.
The comfort is awful also, the road noise is terrible and the tyres transmit tons of vibrations into the cabin, which isn't helped if you have large alloys.
It is difficult to mark the tyre feedback as my car doesn't really give much steering feedback anyway, it's not a very dynamic car.
These tyres are probably suitable for low-powered cars, or cars that aren't fussy about tyre choice. Personally, you could not give these to me for free. Don't cheap out on brakes and tyres.
These tyres came with the car when I bought it and they were pretty much new. In the dry these tyres were alright, they provided a reasonable level of grip. You could get them to spin a little and squeal when you needed to get going from a junction, but it wasn't too bad at all. The dry stopping distance was okay, but it was a bit below average in this regard and any mid range tyre would be much better. The handling in the dry was okay, but it didn't feel too precise or grippy. So overall the dry performance is okay for normal driving, but I'd want something a little grippier for sure.
Now for the wet. The grip is not good at all. The tyres would judder at anything but very gentle acceleration, even then they'd struggle for grip. The car felt like it was really lacking grip. If you set off a bit swiftly from a junction the tyres would squeal loudly and cause the car to judder hard. The handling was poor, with a lot of understeer and traction loss at modest speeds. The wet stopping distance wasn't great. If you live in the UK like me, wet grip is absolutely a must, we spend the best part of 300 days being rained on!
These tyres are very noisy and the fuel economy was noticeably worse with these tyres fitted. The general comfort these tyres provided was alright, however my Toyo's are much comfier and very quiet! The wear on these wasn't noticeable at the maybe 2.5k I used them for, however I can imagine they'd be relatively average in wear levels.
I decided to sell them and change to some Toyo Proxes CF2s, which were far superior in every regard.

I have these Event Ml698+ tyres fitted on my 2006 RAV4. They are quite noisy on roads but otherwise work as expected. I haven't had a chance to test them in deep mud yet, though they seem to perform well in offroad conditions. I live in Finland and the winters are tough around here. These tyres perform well enough in snow, when there is no ice underneath the snow layer. You have to drive really carefully on ice, if you wish to stay on the road. Additional studs would probably improve tracktion on ice.
Overall I'd recommend these tyres for 4x4s, mainly because of the low price point.

2 Rear tyres on a Toyota IQ, DRIVEN BY MY WIFE. Around 10 miles per day.
I now have to replace both of these tyres as they have both badly cracked between the tread lines.
I had 4 of the tires fitted to my Mitsubishi ASX 2 10091 miles ago when I took the car in for MOT it was failed on N/S/F Tyre showing canvas on outer edge of the Tyre, there was 4.5 mm of tread across the Tyre but was failed on inner canvas showing.
I was told that because the tires were 2 years 8 months old they were no longer under warranty I think that 10000 miles is very poor millage for a new tire but cannot find a way to contact the maker to complain so to sum it up I would not buy this brand again and would advise caution.

Acceptable in the dry, but in the wet these are dangerous. Seriously do not buy even if you're on a budget. These tyres should not be on sale.
