Honda Stream Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Kumho Ecowing ES01 KH27 given 10% (205-55-17-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 easy going miles
I had a pair of these put on the front of a front wheel drive Honda stream, they seemed ok so got some put on the back when needed. These are the worst tyre I have ever had. The back end slips on slightest corners, roundabouts, etc. and this is at normal speeds and even in dry conditions - you can hear them screech when it is dry. They were so bad I took them off the back, this is the only time I have ever taken a tyre off, and I have had some rubbish in my time! They are ok on the front, and seem to grip where they are pointed, but for the back have no lateral grip whatsoever. They start to split in the tread too as they wear.

I have had Bridgestone Turanza (very average, not great) Goodyear efficient grip, and Landsail LS388 (don't knock them until you have tried them), and both of the Goodyear and Landsail stick to the road at all times, but the Goodyear don't last too long on the front.

Writing about the Nokian Z G2 given 71% (215-55-17-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 30000 average miles
Had my first set of Nokian Z G2 215/55ZR17 (Made in Russia) fitted on my car for the past 4 years after reading the good reviews. However, after the 2nd year or approx 20,000 miles of rolling on city (70%)/highway (30%), the tyres became quite noisy. After the 3rd year, the tyres show signs of cracks and uneven wear although I performed wheel balancing and rotation for every 10,000 km. What surprises me is the tyres had very uneven wear and the inner blocks surface were high and low during one of the my regular wheel balancing and rotation. Mechanic checked my wheel alignment and there is nothing wrong. TIll now, I do not know why this set of tyres have so much uneven wear. I have used different types of tyres in the past (bridgestone, yokohama, michelin, falken, goodyear, dunlop) but never encounter this phenomenon before, Although the wear indicator is still showing 5 to 6 (almost new) for the tyres with 70% thread depth left, I decided to change the tyres as the tyres was getting too noisy.

Writing about the Yokohama E70D db given 89% (215-55-17-V)
Driving on a combination of roads for 3000 average miles
Yokohama E70B dB decibel 93V (Made in Japan) is a touring tyre which is very quiet and comfort bias. After fitting 4 brand new tyres onto my Honda 2 liter MPV, my ride on the move is so quiet that engine noise becomes more noticeable. This is definitely a comfort tyre suitable for daily commute and long distance touring. Previously my car was fitted with Nokian Z G2 which has uneven wear and noisy. WIth this set of tyres, the drive becomes more relaxing and audio quality has improved. There is no longer the need to turn up the volume. Grip on dry and wet roads is very good. Previously I have fitted & experieced bridegstone, nokian, pirelli, falken, michelin, dunlop, goodyear tyres. I have experience in driving both left hand and right hand sides on roads in Europe to Asia to USA to Australia. From naturally aspirated engine to turbo charged 350HP sports car. It goes without saying that the world best gripping tyres will not help if the driver does not keep a safe distance and pay attention on the roads.
