Volkswagen Passat B8 1.8 TSI RLine 180PS Tyre Review Highlights
Just bought the Hakkas after needing to replace the Michelin X-ice snow 4 that I been using since 2021. Did my first 100 miles and there is my first impression:
1. Grip on dry and wet asphalt is much worse than with Michelin, but still much better than Sailun or other cheap winter tires.
2. Nokian Hakka 10 has noticeable spike noise while driving and breaking , Michelin x-ice snow 4 you can hear spikes only when breaking.
3. In corners and b road twist you can feel that car is riding on metal more, and that means the tyre has less grip and car feel almost wobbly. Definitely the Michelin did the better job for road handling, according and breaking on dry and wet road.
Haven’t had a chance to drive on ice and snow yet ( spring hit early) but will update the review after winter is back again.

Great tyres, bought new for winter 2021-2022.impressed by the lack of noise from studs on clear pavement. Used them on my WV Passat, and tread life is extremely high, went trough 32 000 miles. The first 25 000 miles only polished away just 1,5mm and took 4 winter seasons, but this winter after 10 000 miles I lost 4mm. And because they are now on the legal limit, will change them. I had similar experiences with Michelin x-ice north3, where the first mm holded extremely long, and after 20 000 miles they started to loose tread us other soft Nordic compound tyres. Now decided to try the Nokian Hakapelita 10.

Excellent all-season tyres. Summer performance on dry and wet roads is as good as dedicated summer tyres. Much more comfortable and quieter than my old Sailun Attrezzo ZSR2.
The real surprise is winter grip. On snow, they behave predictably, very close to my previous Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 winter tyres. Acceleration, steering, and braking feel safe and controlled.
The only expected weakness is on black ice and wet packed snow, but even studded tires struggle there. A great balanced choice for mild winters.

The so called noise breaker 3.0 is a joke. It's a disaster, marketing gimmick only. 4 brand new MC 7 tyres with 5km clocked, the noise level is even worst than MC6 40% tread. Will never go back to MC series anymore. When you raise the complain to the tyres shop (Racing Z Sg Long outlet), they will put the blame on the wheel bearing. Another jokers there.

I fitted a set of 2 Hankook Ventus S1 Evo 3 and driven for 2500mi, I also have Goodyear F1 Asy6 on the rear axle so I'll make some references to that tyre too.
Pros:
Braking both in the wet and dry
Comfort both for noise and bumps, very comfortable for a sporty tyre, much more so than the asy6
Wet grip is very good.
Cons:
Aquaplaning even when brand new, the Asy6 is far superior on that
Not much feedback
They took some miles to gain their full grip, almost 2000.
I would buy again, it's a wierdly pleasant combination a comfortable tyre with sports tyre levels of wet grip however the aquaplaning performance needs to improve, be aware of that.

Bought a second-hand set of wheels with 17" alloy rims and new LM001 Blizzaks, Audi homologated AO variety, to use in the winter with my 2018 Passat. They have proved once and again very reliable on the snow, while handling daily wet and dry conmuting or high-speed trips to mountains on the other side of the country without wearing out too fast or making me go too much slower than with the summer tyres (which are 235/45-18). Comfort and noise are also satisfactory. Dry traction and lateral grip are the weakest points, but they brake pretty well both dry and wet so safety is reasonably spared.
In the beginning I thought they would be just fair performers as it is an old model, but after using them for three winters I am certanly satisfied and replacing for the same model will not be out of the choice.
After 17500Km rotating them on both axles, they still are all four over 5mm tread depth so wear is acceptable to me. Not the best, though.
