315/70 17 Tyre Review Highlights
This is the OEM tire that came with my 2023 bronco wildtrak. You all know this snow storm that swapped away across the US end of January 2026... So I decided to go on a winter snowmobile trail. Its near Lake George, NY. And the road up to some scenic views are closed to normal cars because roads were basically ice or snow in freezing temp. I went all the way up with just 4 auto . Note that I have about 36000 miles on this OEM tire. When I was up there I got off to see the views and holy molly it was slippery. I could barely walk. These tires are so darn good in snow and ice that it surprised me. When I went down, I got a ticket as the cop was waiting for me LOL . He was like how the hell did you get up there. I think its close to if not the best snow and ice performing tire I've ever owned. I also drove to Colorade engineering pass without any problems. I drove on sand and it also performed great. The road noices are a bit there but overall its not really bad. Only gripe would be that they run small. Like a 315/70/r17 should be 34.4 inch but I feel like mine are 33 inch at most. But they are light @ 54 lbs where falken at4w are like 74 lbs . AND THEY ARE CHEAP on walmart. Going at around 230 a piece. So if you're not a heavy duty rock crawler, its a good compromise.

Great tire. If you want a just great all around reliable tire that will last and just keep on going this is your tire. Does have a slight hum like most aggressive AT tires but not really noticeable unless you focus on it. I have been in some rough spots in a heavy truck and these have always got me out, and have held up really well on all my vehicles. My 4 runner will be next to get this tire as well. Can’t recommend them enough.

Wonderful product and great tires. Only issue I really had was balancing issues consistently. I had to have multiple tires replaced because they just would not stop wobbling. After a bit I gave up and replaced them with another brand. Made me sad that I could not get a good set to balance up for me.

Worn about 4/32 on a Tacoma with about 30,000 miles. Tires do spin in the rain and rear sometimes slides out when corner and bit faster. But noise isn’t much louder then an aggressive all terrain. Predictable road manners. Havnt had issues in snow however ice is similar to the wet/rain traction. Off road they are solid and have seen a lot of abuse with much cuts or tears.

I installed these on a 2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport S 4xe with the Mopar 2" lift. The tires have about 15k miles on them and still look new. I first took them on a 3700-mile road trip from Washington to the Mexican border and back. I drove in every road condition you can imagine. From hard-packed snow and ice, to sand, rocks, and deep mud.
The tires exceeded my expectations in every terrain! I posted multiple videos on my YouTube channel showing how they performed in all conditions and they are the only tire I will put on my Jeep and my Ram 2500 pickup.

Scores are slightly skewed as these are the biggest tires we can fit on our 2.5 inch lifted Jeep JK 2 door. So these are big heavy tires on a small and relatively light vehicle (each tire's load rating nearly covers the entire vehicle weight).
Dry and wet are about the same, nothing terrible, but I have driven tires with better grip in both situations. The road feedback I knocked off some points just because of my particular setup. On a heavier larger vehicle I would expect it to be a point or two higher. Its pretty binary, you either dont feel the bumps and texture or you REALLY feel the bumps and texture. Handling also gets dinged harder due to the vehicle, you can feel the tires want to give up as they get pushed a bit at highway speeds. Again a heavier vehicle is likely to feel that less. The noise is about what you expect out of an AT tire, and as far as comfort goes, its better when I keep them at around 28-30 PSI on the road. By default the Jeep wants to see 37 PSI which is like driving on rocks. They do ok in the snow, but ice is pretty sketchy, especially on a short wheelbase vehicle.
Overall the tires have worn at less than expected rates (the advantage of a light small vehicle on these tires), and they are quite reasonable on road. They also handle the off road well enough for the trails we run (moderate difficulty in the rockies).

I have now had these tires fitting for about 1.5 years. They are in a 35x12.50R17 size, load range D.
Overall, these are perhaps the best AT tires I have ever had. MT has done an amazing job getting these tires to have a smooth, quiet ride on the street, while also providing fantastic traction offroad. I have had them on dirt, rocks, and plenty of snow.
The tires are a bit on the heavier side due to having a more robust, 3 ply sidewall with sizable side biters. When aired down these really do help protect the sidewalls while also giving additional traction.
On the street, their noise level about average for an AT, despite them being more aggressive than most AT tires. This can be attributed to their asymmetric tread design. My Jeep has more wind noise than tire noise. They have full depth sipes which aid in wet traction, and aid them a lot in the snow. While they will not perform as well as a dedicated snow tire, they are 3-peak rated and have gone everywhere in the snow that I have asked them too. They have also had great tread wear. I live in the mountains, and our roads are known for chewing up tires faster than average. These have done well.
Offroad, these tires really shine. They have larger, deeper voids than most ATs. These really are more of a hybrid tire with an AT name. They will not due as well in deep mud as a dedicated mud tire, but they easily out perform AT's like the BFG KO2/KO3 in the mud. Their compound seems to work pretty well in the rocks. They are not as soft as some more purpose built rock tires, but they do well enough for most.
Its worth noting there is three versions of this tire. The P rated tires have much shallower tread, and the side biters are more of just a shallow design element and do not provide much protection/traction. There is the LT rated tires (eg: 35x12.50R17), which are designed for Jeeps/Broncos/etc and have a load range C or D depending on size. These have a softer compound, deeper tread, and deep side biters. Then there is the metric sized LT tires (eg: 315/70R17) which are load range E, and use a harder compound. These are intended for diesel pickups and such. Do not put these on a Jeep, you will hate them.

Worst tyres I have ever bought for offroading. 3 tyre debeads on one track and after every obstacles needed to get air compressor to inflate tyres again. These tyres seriously have the weakest sidewalls and inability to hold a bead on a wheel I have ever experienced. Any side load and the tyre just facts air pressure out. And that was running em at 18psi. Last time I ever go for cheap tyres.
