Second place went to the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT, which was a very impressive product. I was really surprised by this tyres performance, it wasn't the easiest to drive around the but it's grip was excellent.

Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T represents a well-balanced option that manages to avoid disappointing in any particular area while delivering respectable performance across multiple conditions. The tyre demonstrates very respectable wet handling characteristics and performs nicely in dry conditions, while maintaining decent on-road manners that make it suitable for daily driving. Testers appreciated its consistent performance and balanced character, noting that it doesn't exhibit any major flaws or concerning behaviors. The only improvement suggested would be slightly stronger wet braking performance, though testers emphasized they wouldn't want this at the expense of the tyre's other positive qualities.

On our second set of M-T Baja Boss AT's on our 4Runner. The tires are great on the road, lots of grip in virtually on conditions. We have had them in LOTS of rain and flooding and they handle wet weather amazingly. Only had them in snow/ice once, but we had no issues there. We got roughly 45k miles out of our set of XL load range tires and they wore evenly. They only started making some noise in the last 5k-10k miles, but nothing crazy. Comparing them to our Toyo Open Country's we had before, these are a much better tire. Highly recommend.

I have now had these tires fitting for about 1.5 years. They are in a 35x12.50R17 size, load range D.
Overall, these are perhaps the best AT tires I have ever had. MT has done an amazing job getting these tires to have a smooth, quiet ride on the street, while also providing fantastic traction offroad. I have had them on dirt, rocks, and plenty of snow.
The tires are a bit on the heavier side due to having a more robust, 3 ply sidewall with sizable side biters. When aired down these really do help protect the sidewalls while also giving additional traction.
On the street, their noise level about average for an AT, despite them being more aggressive than most AT tires. This can be attributed to their asymmetric tread design. My Jeep has more wind noise than tire noise. They have full depth sipes which aid in wet traction, and aid them a lot in the snow. While they will not perform as well as a dedicated snow tire, they are 3-peak rated and have gone everywhere in the snow that I have asked them too. They have also had great tread wear. I live in the mountains, and our roads are known for chewing up tires faster than average. These have done well.
Offroad, these tires really shine. They have larger, deeper voids than most ATs. These really are more of a hybrid tire with an AT name. They will not due as well in deep mud as a dedicated mud tire, but they easily out perform AT's like the BFG KO2/KO3 in the mud. Their compound seems to work pretty well in the rocks. They are not as soft as some more purpose built rock tires, but they do well enough for most.
Its worth noting there is three versions of this tire. The P rated tires have much shallower tread, and the side biters are more of just a shallow design element and do not provide much protection/traction. There is the LT rated tires (eg: 35x12.50R17), which are designed for Jeeps/Broncos/etc and have a load range C or D depending on size. These have a softer compound, deeper tread, and deep side biters. Then there is the metric sized LT tires (eg: 315/70R17) which are load range E, and use a harder compound. These are intended for diesel pickups and such. Do not put these on a Jeep, you will hate them.

Great review, and interesting about the three versions, thank you for sharing.

I only have 250 miles on these but so far I am blown away. Road noise is almost non existent even at 80+ mph and they handle incredibly well in all types of weather. The rain and snow is their bread and butter though. Pot holes and bumps aren’t any more noticeable than my stock Michelin Primacy XC AT tires that came on my 2023 F-150. I would put these in the top 5 AT tires that have ever been released!

Unicorn all terrain tire. Don’t expect it to handle on road like a dedicated road tire, but for how aggressive and capable these are off-road and in every condition I’ve put them through, you have to compromise somewhere. Even then, they’re about as good on handling and comfort as most AT tires I’ve used that did t compare anywhere near the level these do off-road or in adverse onroad situations in harsh weather. I installed these on a 2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport S 4xe with the Mopar 2" lift. The tires have about 15k miles on them and still look new. I first took them on a 3700-mile road trip from Washington to the Mexican border and back. I drove in every road condition you can imagine. From hard-packed snow and ice, to sand, rocks, and deep mud.
The tires exceeded my expectations in every terrain! I posted multiple videos on my YouTube channel showing how they performed in all conditions and they are the only tire I will put on my Jeep and my Ram 2500 pickup.

Fantastic all terrain tire. Very aggressive looks and tread pattern but still very well mannered on the road. The road handling is much better than you would expect. I would say that these tires are far superior in almost every category to the BF Goodrich K02's that were on my truck previously. For off road capability, these tires are absolute monsters! I will definitely be purchasing these again when I need tires.
