305/30 19 Tyre Review Highlights

Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S rated 81% while driving a Nissan 370Z
Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 spirited miles
I used the Michelin PS4S as a general street use tire on my 370Z for a little more than 2 years. I will add the disclaimer that my alignment used was more track biased with extra negative camber dialed in, but these have never seen the track. Overall, these are a great tire to use on the road. Peak grip is excellent and the ride quality is also noticeably improved over competitors. When the tread was adequate (above the wear bars), the wet traction was pretty good as well. However, I did not enjoy the steering feedback from the vehicle. Compared to the same sizes of my previous Continental Extreme Contact Sport, turn-in felt vague and not as responsive. The overall treadwear of the tires is excellent. My front tires are still good but being a rear-wheel drive car, it's expected for those to wear out faster.

I am moving onto the Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires (mainly due to a closeout pricing) because the Michelins are just far too expensive for what they offer on the road. For the track, I recommend just getting a good set of 200TW tires.

Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar 3R rated 90% while driving a Ford Mustang
Driving on a combination of roads for 50 spirited miles
These blow michelin out of track days…leaving Porsches/Ferarris behind. Amazing once warm…easy in summer heat California. Wear rate will probably get you 2-3 track days or 1-2 with moderate street driving. Comfort better than mich supersport if you have magneride options. Noticeably better in sport/track mode though.

BFGoodrich G Force Rival S 1.5 rated 90% while driving a Chevrolet camaro
Driving on track for 300 spirited miles
After buying my Camaro intended for autox/daily use, I bought a set of wheels/tires specifically for autocross. It is 305/30-19 at all 4 corners, which for the most part fits, other than some poke beyond the fenders. I drove them around on my commute for a few days when I first put them on to see if there were any rubbing issues that needed to be addressed. Despite the poke, there is zero rubbing on an otherwise stock car. On the street, they are certainly loud and tramline on some pavements pretty bad. That just comes with the territory. I've yet to drive them in the rain, but from what I've heard it's not good. So far I've done 2 autox events on them, one being a test n tune which has amounted to roughly 12 runs on them. I've yet to see any sort of discernable wear, but I'll have to keep an eye on that. The initial impression is that the grip is well beyond what I was used to on my old Focus ST. The BFGs do like heat, and it's harder to get heat in them than it was on the Focus with the RE-71Rs. There are probably a number of contributing factors here, but the BFGs are probably best for those in hotter states. The first two events were in colder weather where it barely broke 50F, and the fronts finally started coming into their best range after probably the third run, and the rears never got beyond lukewarm. In my first points event this year, I ended up 8th of 124, with more time to come as I get used to the new car/tires. After a few years of the RE71s and the Rivals dominating the autox scene, it'll be interesting to see how the Yokohamas and the coming Falkens will stack up.

Knock out. You get in and it drives like a new car.

Michelin Pilot Super Sport rated 90% while driving a Porsche 911 turbo, PDK
Driving on mostly motorways for 400 spirited miles
Just mounted the Super Sports on my Porsche 911 turbo (997 PDK). Driven them about 400km since now. No idea about wear and wet handling yet, but the first impression, coming from the Bridgestone RE050's, is that I have much less tyre-noice than before (for which the 911 has been criticised as a Gran turismo car). The tires feel softer than before, so now it actually makes sense to put the PASM dampers to sport mode when on the Autobahn.
The tyre do seem to have some more tendency to understeer on turn in than the Potenzas, but this should/can be fixed by staying more on the gas during the turn. The SuperSports seem to offer sinilar levels of grip compared to the RE050's, but I have not been able to take the car to the track to test more yet.
But the tires are much more comfortable than the Bridgestones in terms of noise and feel. And in high speeds (been over 300kph on the Autobahn) are still very agile and stable.
So far very happy, as most of the driving I do is Autobahn.

Best regards from Stuttgart

Pirelli PZero Rosso rated 86% while driving a Porsche 997.1 Turbo
Driving on a combination of roads for 9500 spirited miles
The tyre is just on the legal limit now after 9,500 miles of hard driving. The car is a DMS stage2 997.1 Turbo running around 600bhp so feel the tyres have coped well. Great feedback from the road in the wet and dry although I am no tyre expert. Felt as good, if not better than the recommended ContiSportContacts that were on there when I purchased the car so good value for money as they worked out about £120 cheaper for the rear set when purchased Sept10.
