Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tyre tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

The Linglong Sport Master Winter delivers balanced performance on reduced grip levels overall, but has pronounced weaknesses that limit its appeal. It provides decent braking on both wet and dry asphalt with good aquaplaning protection, and shows sluggish but easily controllable handling on dry roads. However, on snow it demonstrates weak performance across all disciplines except cornering grip. On wet surfaces, the tyre exhibits sluggish steering with limited reserves and a tendency toward lift-off oversteer, which is concerning. In dry conditions, while cornering stability is weak, it maintains some basic competence. The tyre feels somewhat harsh over cross joints. Most critically, the EU label's optimistic A-rating for wet grip proved misleading - the actual performance doesn't match this claim, and process stability in the Serbian manufacturing facility appears questionable based on follow-up testing showing significant variation between production batches.

The Linglong Sport Master Winter from the Chinese manufacturer manages to deliver respectable driving characteristics on both dry and snow-covered roads, showing that emerging brands are improving their winter tyre development capabilities. High lateral grip on wet surfaces is another positive attribute. However, the tyre is severely let down by extended braking distances on snow—ironic given its winter designation—which create serious safety concerns in the most critical winter driving situation. Overall snow performance beyond straight-line braking is also weaker than established competitors. At approximately €360 per set, it's among the cheapest options from recognized brands, but the snow braking weakness is too significant to overlook, even at this bargain price. The tyre might be acceptable for mild-winter regions where snow is rare and quickly cleared, but for actual winter driving conditions, the compromised emergency braking capability makes it impossible to recommend over similarly priced but safer alternatives from established budget brands.

Top 3 Linglong Sport Master Winter Reviews

Initial Impressions Review
Given 80% while driving a Audi A7 1.8 TFSI (255/40 R19) on a combination of roads for 1,500 average miles
First impressions of the tyre are very satisfactory. They perform well on dry and wet roads. I haven't had a chance to test them on snow and ice yet. Comfort is good, but as expected, the tyres are noisy and the car consumes more fuel with winter tyres than with summer tyres.

At the time of purchase, the tyres were 3x cheaper than mid brands and even 5x cheaper than premium brands. That's why I decided to buy them and check whether it is necessary to buy expensive tyres for normal driving conditions and usual driving style. My conclusion is that Linglong sport master winter is quite a good tyre for conditions where the roads are not constantly covered with snow and ice and that the 2025 auto express winter tyre test best describes this tyre.

Initial Impressions Review
Given 81% while driving a BMW 218d Active Tourer (315/35 R20) on a combination of roads for 2,000 average miles
Was hesitant to buy the LingLongs at first, seeing how there's not many reviews online.
I went for it thinking if they didnt work out i would just throw them away and buy other ones,
and if they did then I'd have found something that will keep saving me a lot of money in the future.
To my surprise the LingLong sport master winter has been fantastic for me.
This 2025/2026 winter started out very mild with temperatures around 15C, but then gone down to temperatures -15C with lots and lots of snow and ice.
The tyre performed spectacularly in the dry and great in the wet and in very deep snow.
Black Ice is a problem for any tyre and there's no tyre in the world that can save you when you hit such a patch of ice.
So by driving like a normal person on icy snowy roads I never had any problem.

The previous tyres I had on were Michelin All seasons and granted, they were 4 years old, the linglongs outperformed them in the wet and in the snow.
Strongly suggest saving money and trying these out.

Given 88% while driving a BMW X5 e70 (255/50 R19) on for 500 miles
I bought the tires before going to the mountains with not much expectation. But there was a lot of snow on the mountain that the snowplow couldn't clear as much as it was falling. The car went through the snowdrifts without even turning on the traction control. After a few days, the sensor froze, which turned off my front floor, but I also went down through the snowdrifts to the first car wash without any problems.
