Given 27% while driving a MG ZS (205/45 R17 V) on a combination of roads for 2,000 spirited miles
Simply lethal in anything other than dry conditions. The MG ZS is a fantastic handling car and these tyres absolutely ruin the driving experience in poor weather. They grip reasonably well in the dry although I think that is more the car than the tyres, but it will start to understeer at less than 20mph in the rain, that is not acceptable and not a characteristic of this model car but simply the tyres. Years ago I briefly ran them on a Sierra when I fitted some wheels fitted with these, a RWD car was terrifying on these at anything above a crawl and reverting back to small tyres of Champiro origin restored some confidence. I would have thought the compounds would have changed over the years but sadly not. The car came with these tyres as I would never choose to have them fitted, and despite being only half worn they are going in the bin. A decent midrange from Kumho, Hankook or Nexen is similarly priced but far superior. The only saving grace to people who are worried about such things is that they seem to last a while due to the hard compound, but they are noisy, harsh riding and handle very badly. The front end slides with very little notice, again the car hides some of the deficiencies due to its excellent roadholding. However the ABS is more active too, no confidence at all. Do not buy these if you enjoy your car, love your family or want to make it home after an emergency stop.

Given 86% while driving a Jaguar XK8 (285/30 R20 W) on a combination of roads for 7,000 average miles
Very good tyre in my opinion.

The wet grip is not brilliant but is certainly not as bad as other budget tyres I have used in the past.

Very good value for money!

Given 57% while driving a Vauxhall Corsa D (215/35 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 6,000 average miles
I bought my Corsa VXR with these tyres and can quite frankly say I will NOT be buying them again! These tyres are appalling & as mentioned very dangerous in the wet! They aquaplane at the simplest of corners whilst going slow and truly are dangerous.

Good points.
Hard wearing
Cheap
Acceptable performance in dry

Bad
Useless in wet/snow
Don't give feedback of the road
Noisy
Dangerous!!!

I would never advise these to anyone who was driving a 1.0l KA let alone a hot hatch etc. Please don't make the mistake the idiot woman driver before me did and buy these unless you only drive when it's bone dry.

Given 33% while driving a Volkswagen Golf Mk5 GT TDi 170bhp (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 1,250 spirited miles
Absolute rubbish.

These tyres were on a set of wheels I bought. I had ordered some Vredestein Sessantas for them however I was awaiting them to come back in stock.

I've never ever ever put budget tyres on a car for good reason - they're dangerous.
In the dry, they are about 70% as good as a premium tyre. In the wet, they are bad to the point of being dangerous. Grip fades in and out seemingly randomly and they provide virtually no steering feedback whatsoever. It's like driving on wood wrapped in wool.

Wet braking is an absolute no-no with maximum grip being reached with ease which would not bode well for a pedestrian if they wandered out infront of you while driving.

Anyone who says these tyres are good, or better than premium brands, clearly struggle to understand the dynamics of driving.

They create terrible road noise and are so hard they noticeably reduced the ride quality of the car.

Please please please if you value your life or the lifes of the people you'd crash into then

Given 54% while driving a BMW 330d M Sport (255/35 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 9,000 average miles
I was very impressed with the tyres (for the price) so much so that I bought a second set.

I run them on a 2003 BMW 330d sport.

Noise is a little bit loud but nothing you can't live with.

Turn in is ok although they feel a little wooden when really pressing on but hey, they are very cheap.

***WARNING***
They are cheap for a reason.
Both of my rear tyres have done 9000 miles. They haven't work excessively and still have 6mm of tread left. However, the tyres have started to crack between the tread blocks and both tyres have started to delaminate. There is a line right across the width of both tyres that is identical in appearance on both.

I am certain that a spirited run down the motorway would result in a double blow-out / delamination.

I am currently speaking to my supplier to see what can be done and if there is a warranty but I doubt it. The tyres are approx. 12 months old but were manufactured 36/11 (36th week of 2011. Still, they should last longer than that.

Would I buy again? NO.

UPDATE:-

I reviewed these earlier in the year when new (July 1, 2013).

I still maintain they are excellent value with impressive levels of wet & dry grip but they are starting to get a bit noisy on some road surfaces after 2 months of use.

Still superb for the money.

Given 53% while driving a Toyota Chaser (255/35 R18) on a combination of roads for 15 average miles
On a rear wheel drive car with a light rear end like the Toyota chaser these things are dangerous. It span me out at a round about without warning I floored it at 2,000 rpm in 4th gear. Not many tyres do that. It has an LSD which maybe doesn't suit these tyres. I put these on a heavy v8 soarer open diff and they are much better. Planted to the ground and don't seem to wear at all. Good for high kms, heavy car, not much rain. When it rains I'm always a little worried. In the dry they seem alright and have no issue.

I started out with Nexen then went to Nankang and finally Falken. Never, ever, ever going to buy Falken again. They wear to damn quickly and my front left tyre blew the tread halfway around the tyre on the inside, simply separated from the sidewall. Going back to Nankang and probably staying with them.

Given 79% while driving a Nissan 300ZX (275/35 R18 R) on mostly motorways for 0 average miles
This is my fourth set of various sizes of these tires. They really look great and when warmed up in dry conditions they are almost impossible to break free and when they do it is easy to control the slide. BUT BEWARE in the wet! It is probably just the nature of a hard compound (long lasting) tire that when they break loose on wet roads they just GO! You will find yourself going backwards in a second or trying your best to chase the tail of the car to keep it behind you. And maybe because of the awesome dry road grip you will find yourself throwing it into a turn like usual and the next thing you know your frantically trying to keep the car from spinning. So my advice is to go a safe area and test the tires in the wet to know their limit before finding yourself backwards on a busy highway. One last note, the painted lines on the road are really like ice to the tires when wet so be beware. I have these on my 300ZX and BMW 850ci.

I feel I really have to put a balanced review of these tyres as some of the comments are quite negative.

I have used the Nankang NS-2 previously on an Audi TT Quattro Roadster and found them to be not bad.

On my current e60 BMW 530i; they are not only less than half the cost of the Dunlop run flat tyres (RFT's) but also appear to be just as grippy in the dry and in the wet. I wasn't expecting them to be great but they are certainly excellent on this RWD 270bhp saloon.

There is a little more side wall flex than with the RFT's but that is the nature of an RFT tyre (the side wall takes the strain when punctured) but the Nankang NS2 certainly feels controlled under hard cornering and without going absolutely mental I couldn't get them to "let go" under hard cornering in the dry. I thought it'd be a different story in the wet but again, cornering hard could not get them to "break away".

On this car, these tyres are very impressive indeed and get a 9/10 from me.

As for wear, it's too early to tell but they do have a lowish tread wear rating of 200 so may not last a long time but at the price I really won't complain.
