Best Tyres for the BMW 120d e82

put on my BMW 118d, comfortable considering the type of vehicle and profile. felt really safe in the wet, even when driving spiritedly. confidence inspiring

205/50-17and 225/45-17, made approx 86000km in 10 summer season, till the wires became visible. ok road feeling, grip and comfort in the dry, quite bad grip in the wet but very predictable, so not problematic, just need to drive normally and not be crazy.

Fitted to BMW 120d e82. Car is 230bhp remapped and rwd.

Use to drive ventus primes tyres and the difference is very noticeable. The accelera has no grip, the car spins its wheels in 3rd when before, the car did not spin at all. Wet weather is very unstable. The car use to glide in the rain and feel in control at 160km/h easy, now it feels dangerous at 100km/hr.

Driving on country roads is also hairy. Any bump in the road will throw the balance out and the tyres are unpredictable. Sometimes it understeers, other times it oversteer. You cannot feel the car like with the higher tier tyre. Would be fine on a city car not doing long motorway mikes or fast country roads and on a small city car with no power, however in the BMW it’s a definite no go. Will be switching back to a premium tyres asap

Fantastic tyres, I run them on BMW 120d rear wheel drive from October to April and I've never been stuck. Excellent in the dry, wet, ice and snow. An essential when figures are below 7degrees c. Couldn't ask for more from these tyres, would buy again for sure.

Tyres are not to bad when just driving around town but give them a open road and do not expect much Very low on grip in the rain and in the dry there below par on previous tyres I've owned around the same price Comfort wise they have quite a soft sidewall so gives more of a smoother ride and noise is also low Have done around 5500miles on the tyres and they have not worn much despite being quite a soft tyre

Put these tyres on both the front and the back to replace the original run flatts that came with my originally and was deeply impressed. Great improvement in feedback, grip and economy. So far they've done 15000 miles and the front look like hey still have another 3-4 mm left before the limit only just replaced the backs with a real budget tyre as a screw driver mysteriously found its way into one of them. But before that they had around 3mm left.
