MINI JCW GP2 Tyre Review Highlights
I've driven the same set of NTO1s tyres on two different MINIs - lightweight FWDs with LSDs and BBKs - firstly an R56 John Cooper Works GP (GP2) on a hillclimb, and basically, these gave me an 'unfair advantage', in that they heated up quickly and gave me tons of grip and confidence on an unknown hill. They were spectacularly good fun. I then drove the same set of tyres on an R53 MINI Cooper S (also heavily modified) on a number of circuits, and the grip is outstanding, so much so that I could exit a tight corner on three wheels, lifting the inside front. Nothing else we've driven comes close. And surprisingly enough, they've held up to a lot of track work, and still have a couple of mm of useful life. They do respond to a good set up so you can make the msot of the nice clean consistent grip (they don't take an age to come on and then overheat). They're basically lethal in standing water though, as once the grooves have gone, they're like full slicks. Don't drive them in anything other than merely damp conditions. I'd buy them again if I could find them...

Great tyre very impressive wet grip even in standing water, dry grip is good but not impressive especially above 7degrees C. fitted on my mini cooper gp2 as winter tyres i would buy these again.

Purchased a 2019 Mini Cooper John Cooper Works for my wife which cane with these tyres. I thought they would have been great tyres based om the brand, however I was so wrong, my wife doesn't even want to drive the car anymore with those tyres. Our main complaint about the tires are the road noise, very harsh ride, sidewalls are weak and poor feedback. After 2 weeks (less than 800km) of owning the car, we damaged 3 of the 4 tyres, 2 potholes caused the tyres to burst (sidewalls had big holes in them where the rubber was just flapping) while travelling less than 40 km/h, the other tyre was lost from a sink in the road were the sidewall rubber tore away.
I will never buy these tyres again, we are from Jamaica and these tyres can not hold up to our conditions, looking to purchase Hankook Ventus evo2 instead, the run flat nature ruins the ride of the car. I don't understand how a high performance car can come with touring tyres which are so inadequate, these tyres ruined the experience of the Mini Cooper JCW.
