Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI Tyre Review Highlights
Had these tyres on my Mitsubishi Evo 6 when I bought it nearly new back in 2000. The grip was fantastic but came with a very high wear rating. They lasted for 4500 miles maximum, which conveniently fitted in with the manufacturer service intervals and worn out brake pad replacements. I tried the equivalent Michelin performance tyre and it totally changed the grip and handling….for the worse. Makes sense, if you want grip you have to accept a softer tyre with a high wear rating.

When the tyre is new, its not grippy till its properly runned in. The tyre also takes longer to warm up compared to others same categories tyre, it doesn’t overheat easily due to harder rubber compounds which also gives slower wear and more mileage to the tyre. Due to its extremely hard sidewall, even harder then ad08r, Its a heavy tyre. It performs well on wet, best ehp tyre on wet i would say. The dry grip is good but not on intensive driving style. The tyre will really grips when its properly warmed up, which is not easy unless you did a few warm up run before really whacking the corners. The feedback of the tyres is great that you can almost few every uneven surface of the road. Road noise not really if you has a loud car like mine :) If you would like the daily your car with a ehp tyre and not emptied your pockets, this is the tyre to go for. For the price of rm1300 for 4 265/35/18 it’s definitely bang for a buck! Its one of the best budget ehp tyre out there in the market, worth a try if you are still new to ehp tyre.

Bought my Evolution with these tyres already on the car, with approximately 4mm tread remaining.
Dry / Wet Grip: I have had no issues with regards to grip in the dry or wet (when used as fast road tyres)
Road Feedback: I found these tyres to be very responsive
Progressiveness: I found the tyres to be very predictable at their limits and found that I could keep control of the vehicle easily
Wear: I would say the wear is average, however last 1mm have worn down fairly rapidly, but having said that I have had many "spirited" drives in the car.
Comfort: I enjoy the harder sidewalls of the Bridgstone tyres however this comes at the prices of comfort. I also found that the tyres produce more noise than I would like them to.
Overall: considering the performance and price of these tyres I wail definitely buy these again, and would recommend them to any evo owner!
